Description

I sometimes wonder, mouth agape, at the people who come to Enterprise’s defense purely for its fourth season, and the people who treated the finale as awful purely for the sake of the fourth season. Considering that any other franchise, especially a scifi franchise, of Enterprise’s quality would have bottomed out before the halfway point of season 1 without marquee value, I think it’s safe to say that Enterprise didn’t get the shaft. No, it was given far FAR more chances than any other franchise in this genre would get (just look at Firefly, Crusade, MANTIS, and Twin Peaks), and they kept wasting them until, by the time they finally decided to give a shit, it was too little too late.

Also, who else wants to see Twilight Sparkle replace River and come equipped with a Caster Gun? Anyone, anyone? :D

The reason why Enterprise failed was because you has to pay a premium to watch it… Just like another Star Trek series…

It’s amazing what a little thing like network sabotage can do to ruin a good show.

I oddly liked Enterprise, though not as much as the other shows, in fact a lot less then the other shows. The show went down hill for me when its plot became tied in to the 9/11 attacks, and then it just kept getting worse and worse.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

I’ve never seen all of Enterprise just season 1 although I’ve started rewatching all the trek stuff on netflix and just saw Enterprise three parter about fixing the Vulcans, that was pretty good. I mean star trek is well know for always finding itself after a season for two (its were “growing a bread” comes form), Enterprise just took longer than the others sadly it was too late.

I’ve never seen Firefly other than an episode of two, they’re ok nothing special its seems it was only popular because Joss Whedon did it.

Now Space Above and Beyond is what should have up there. I mean the Chigs and Silicates are a thousand times cooler than Reavers

If anyone should’ve guest-starred in the Enterprise finale, it should’ve been Patrick Stewart.

Good God, the man is fit for his age. Unlike the majority of his younger co-stars, he could even still pull off the appalling spandex Season 1 TNG uniforms.

I could’ve lived without seeing Riker with a guy and flabby Troi in those TNG-era uniforms.

There’s a reason they switched to predominantly black uniforms for the damn movies, lol.

I’m in the minority in that I actually didn’t mind the finale, if only for the ending and the fact that I honestly had gone past the point of caring about these deranged fucktards we’d followed for too long.

But yes, Robert Picardo was awesome. I only regret that we never had a chance for Data and the Doctor to interact.

And Voyager, the shittiest Star Trek ever produced, lasted a full 7 years. The only good thing about that show was Robert Picardo.

Enterpise had its moments; and the final season was pretty damn good, with the exception of ’Deadalus” and that fucking finale.

Firefly is only good because it ended before it could ruin itself Just look at the movie.

I personally think Outlaw Star did it better, but still. Even something that wasn’t great deserves a real chance to shine w/o getting undercut, and if you’re coasting on previous success like ENT did, you give up that chance.

Quick thought: Do you suppose Lauren Faust could reboot Star Trek and do it well?

@Morfean
I’ve honestly never understood how the character of Captain Archer came into existence given Star Trek carries itself as a progressive show, and how Rick Berman set out to make the characters both ideologically unmovable and supposedly without fault. It’d have actually been kind of interesting to see a bigot in the squeaky clean Trekverse if, A: Archer was shown to GROW from these encounters and realize the error of his ways, and B: Archer wasn’t portrayed as a fucking Hollywood schizophrenic who put his demagnetized moral compass before actual morality.

Ah, the Xindi, proof positive that you cannot EVER make things up as you go along in fiction. And despite these things being religious zealots who set out to exterminate mankind at the behest of the Vorlons Prophets Sphere Builders Retreads, they’re neeeeever brought up again. Good job! OwO d

I still say that Enterprise is just one long backdoor pilot for a Quantum Leap x TNG crossover in some long gone reality. :(

Goddamn, I hated Enterprise’s cast. The humans, Vulcans, Klingons, EVERYONE, were all dumbasses and most often racists for no reason.

Archer would have made Sun Tzu cry, he was so shit at tactics. And he was a massive hypocrite and racist to boot!

I fucking hate EVERYTHING in Season 3. Xindi my ass. ‘Hey writers, I have an idea! Fuck exploration, let’s go out and kill some shit!’

Season 4 tried so hard to fix everything, it was pathetic. It was like watching an eviscerated man desperately try to shovel his intestines back into his chest cavity.
