I meanā¦what else is there to say about this new series of whatever-it-is? I want to think this reflects it pretty well, though I definitely spent way more than warranted on it, curse my sinful hand!
Ā
Real talk though, the initial impression is very not good and Iām afraid the plan is similar to what Teen Titans Go went through. That show isnāt bad, but the characters suffered a complete dilution of individual personality and got turned into zany characters for comic relief with nothing to set them apart. Given how these horsies were acting in that preview, Iām not very hopeful; I wish I could forget CalArts Fluttershy waving her noodly tube hooves but alas my brain is cursed with that vision forever. That said, I do hope this wonāt be successful enough for them to consider sticking to the formula or designs for an eventual G5, that would be the end of me.
Ā
At least the memes are good.

I thought Gen.Z. was more liberal, with all the Trump drama, and such. Though, I think itās safe to say every genā, has plenty of people on both sides, including radicals on both, and I see the far-left also being dismissive to anyone with opposing opinions, and such too. So itās not just the far-right that does that. Iām honestly pretty annoyed with radicals on both sides lately.
Ā
Yeah, while ā90s nostalgia is still around, I do see some bashing ānostalgia,ā and I see some bash stuff like Nintendo for ānostalgia pandering.ā I even saw some put down stuff like āSonic Maniaā for that too. So I tire of that too. No generation is perfect, but that doesnāt mean all old or new stuff is ābad.ā
Ā
You can play games with POGS, collect them, or trade them. They were basically like PokĆ©mon cards. I had some with Super Mario World on them, and other popular franchises, which is probably also why they were popular then. Ā
They were also kinda more durable then say paper cards.

I donāt really understand it, whether it started off as a left-wing or a right-wing meme. I do know a lot of Gen Z tends to be more conservative than millennials, so maybe it started with them. But regardless, I could be cursed with seeing usage of it that very annoyingly lumps 90s kids being nostalgic about the 80s and 90s in with strawman āboomersā who wear MAGA hats, are racist and sexist and deny climate change. So what an insidious way to demonize nostalgia as well as silence any criticism of the way things are now.
Ā
I remember back from 2002-2018 or so 90s nostalgia was cool and 90s kids were the prominent voice. Now it seems putting down any sort of nostalgia and glorifying the way things are now like itās some kind of utopia is the hippest, trendiest thing possible.
Ā
Also, you have me curious about Pogs. What exactly did they do?
I liked pogs. lol (ā90s child here.)
Ā
Also, wasnāt the āok, boomerā gag usually used against the far-left, (seeing as many āboomersā are liberal) whom you yourself are criticising?
Believe me, I grew up in the 90s and the 2000s and Iāve seen my share of stupid fads from those decades. Remember Pogs? I thought they were dumb back in elementary school and didnāt see why everyone was obsessed with them. Remember VideoNow? There was one kid at my high school who had a VideoNow and I thought āwhatās the point, itās not even in color!ā Or what about Big Mouth Billy Bass? Boy bands? Razor Scooters? Furbies?
Ā
Really sorta ironic how nowadays I and many other 90s and 2000s kids get nostalgic for those stupid gimmicky things. Again all those things feel considerably less pathological than todayās fads because of the unfortunate implications of a lot of stuff popular today. Fortnite? Actively encourages video game addiction and sucks playersā bank accounts dry with microtransactions. TikTok? Owned by the Chinese Communist Party and also a hangout for child predators. Social media? Responsible for both a huge spike in racism and the leftās overzealous, Orwellian actions taken to censor it at the cost of everyone elseās free speech. Smartphones, tablets, smart-everything? Invades personal privacy and snoops on all aspects of your life just so the algorithms can make things slightly more convenient for you.
Ā
Call me cynical, but as a 32-year-old autistic man who fondly remembers the 80s, 90s and 2000s, I do not like the dark direction culture and technology are both headed. And it is especially sad and infuriating how social media culture makes it hip and trendy to dismiss any criticism of the way things are now with stuff like the Ok Boomer meme.
Oh, thatās probably it, yeah. Social media, rights activism, and childrenās fads arenāt inherently horrible, itās whenever the cesspool of humanity actively introduces their uninformed, illiterate, and inane attributes to the medium. Relatable and dignified usages of trends are rare enough to make individuals lose faith in society. :D

Ā
I think the hate is less because the given toy or fad is silly, and more because the culture associated with it that promotes it comes across as insufferably hip and trendy, coming out of a mindset that is completely dependent on social media and the latest trends. Also I think people hate social media/smartphone culture because it is associated with the rise of stuff like overzealous political correctness, cancel culture, inability to criticize the Chinese Communist Party and the ever-increasing use of smart devices that are effectively destroying privacy.
I remember when I was in high school one of the collectibles were rubber bands shaped like animals and other things.(except when you were actually wearing them)
I found the hate over those more annoying then the toy itself, and the fidget spinner fad kinda died down. Apparently, theyāve been around sense the ā90s, so honestly theyāre not even that new.
Ā
And honestly, everybody collected, or played with silly things as kids. Such as POGS, PokƩmon cards, bottle caps, postage stamps, and such.
because there was so much different to what we collected as kids even ours parents collecting those kids
smartphones are not going away any time soon. Ā
and really smart phones are not just something people want it something they need. my previous job communicate with staff with Facebook and itās messenger and even my current one wanted to use WhatsApp

Only thing thatās kinda hilarious in hindsight is that she can spin-dash. >>2389324 Though, he was wrong in his other assertions.
Ā
No fidget-spinners, or anything though I could kinda see Pinkie using āem, even in FIM. Ā
(I donāt even consider the ponies using cellphones/tablets ātrendy,ā or ātrying to be hip,ā because honestly everybody uses those now. Itād be like complaining about people using Youtube. Not to mention, G1 ponies used phones too.)
Edited
And was made when we only had that toy advert.I still canāt believe we had to explain to people that was a toy advert and the actual trailer for The show
Edited
Because the guy who made this is upset.

Just wait until I bring my fidget spinner OC back to life. They are a timeless classic, I say!

@SodiumChloride Ā
Sheās probably a Jojo fan too.

@Background Pony #AC83 Ā
