Since there’s no indication that she’s read the book yet, I would imagine that this is the part where Luna is exerting control. Notice how she’s closer to Luna’s coat color then the solid black of Nightmare Moon right now. Pretty sure Luna is doing her work now and is also giving Twilight the opportunity and reason to stay there and take a peek at some books.
