To celebrate the shows 9th anniversary and to give it something of a send off I decided to join in this years art event. Since the prompt was “a character achieving their dream” my mind went straight to Scootaloo. I know that in the show she’s accepted her lack of flight but just because you accept something doesn’t mean you can’t want to go beyond it and I believe that anything can be overcome with the right tools and a little help.
 
If someone can’t fly, why can’t you build them wings? I’ve seen several amazing wing designs but I’ve always been partial to simple and sweet. The wings themselves (along with the power source) are held in place by a harness and are calibrated to move with her wings. She may not be able to pick stuff up with them but they’ll get her in the air as good as any other.
 
So while Scoots is flying off to her own bright future, we’ll be doing the same. FIM may have ended but I’m sure there’s more to come, so here’s to the future and finding our own wings!
