From the point of view of the situation of the crisis of world culture, then yes, they finished this series on time.
Although the creators have had time since the 8th season of the animated series, the production of these last two seasons will go down in quality.

Yes. Season 10 is coming to the IDW comic books in April of next year.
Yeah just looked into a guy name IDW that’s been making MLP fan comics ever since the show was around and his works are very popular. He’ll keep making it as long as he recieves support and payment, but most people desire the show to be a much more fitting end than what the comics provide since they’re fan stories and not canon.

I don’t think many care about the comics since the show did a great job already airing from beginning to end, bringing with it amazing memories to all that watched it and rode along with it. It’s finished and reading comics that continue it from whoever makes them may not do many justice and I personally don’t want to read them myself.
