Starlight: misguided jerk of a cult leader who was blind to how full of shit her version of friendship was, thought six ponies couldn’t be that important to the world.
Cozy Glow: Tirek attacked Equestria within her lifetime, quite possibly was magic drained, or knew someone it happened to, and she told herself “I want to be like him, but I’ll do it right,” so she pretended to be friends with Twilight and her friends, and threw them in Tartarus to get them out of the way.
She outright betrayed them with no delusions that she was doing the right thing, and most importantly, she felt zero remorse for any of it, unlike Discord. She obviously understood friendship entirely, judging from how well she was helping others in the school.
Twilight obviously cared about her, and would’ve helped her with any problem she might’ve had (if she had any), but she repaid her with naught but pure cold-blooded treachery.

no because “cOzY GlOw iS JuSt A cHiLd wOn’T SoMeBOdY ThInK oF ThE ChILdRen” and obviously all children should be exempt from punishment when they try to… hold ponies hostage, drain magic and gain power and domination over all lesser beings, I guess
but no all of that is fine because “StArLigHT DiD It ToO!!!” even though Starlight had what Cozy Glow lacked after it was all over, and that’s remorse - nobody seems to understand or is willing to accept that Cozy was given a chance, even though we all know how that turned out
people need to stop using Starlight Glimmer as their crutch to try and defend Cozy Glow’s actions tbh
Chrysalis didn’t want to be redeemed because she’s cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs
Tirek doesn’t care he just wants to be ripped again and destroy shit because muscles and power and magic and shit
and Cozy Glow’s just stubborn and refuses to conform to society in the worst ways
and again, people are just conveniently forgetting that Cozy Glow was doing shit way before she got sent to Tartarus, but all of that is okay because

I actually liked it when they reformed Starlight. Sure it was a bit fast and sudden, but it did add to Twilight’s growth and she was a fun character afterwards. Reforming Cozy and even Tirek and Chrysalis would have been an awsome way to handle them especially after Frenemies (and perhaps to a lesser extent these q&a’s). I for one found it odd and disturbing that Cozy was immediatly taken into Tartarus in the first place and appearently no one ever visited her or even tried writing to her, but the finale made it even worse. The way they handled her just feels so wrong.
She didn’t really have a chance to do that in the S5 premiere with Starlight, get into the “why,” and she wasn’t actually convinced she was irredeemable at that time.
They’re only similar on a superficial level.
Yes, Starlight was indeed evil, but Cozy Glow did most of that when she wasn’t even angered.
Besides, I thought there’s people who were frustrated Starlight reformed? Shouldn’t Cozy have been a breath of fresh air in S8?
@AC97
Yeah, just like starlight causing all the off screen dead with all the alternative timelines or this attempt of murder in her first appearance and rejecting twilight help.
I guess that we will never have a comfy comment section with cozy glows thanks to the user that only want to watch her suffer. It’s like they don’t have any empathy at all toward a child with anger issues
Right, a shitload of magic theft (ask Tirek how well Equestrians take unrepentant acts of that), 12 counts of false imprisonment, treason, attempted overthrow of government, stating an intention to try something elsewhere…
Those aren’t petty crimes, those are atrocities that could’ve easily caused deaths (what if someone out there in Equestria was using a cloudwalking spell, and there was nobody to catch them?), and Cozy Glow showed no remorse when she heard that others almost died during that field trip (which she’d helped arrange).
It keeps getting worse, isn’t it? That just makes future event even worse than before. What the actual fuck were they thinking?! Just scrap the whole damn thing and remake it from scratch.
