the evidence is that applejack is with rainbow dash. Between Soarin and she was just friendship. you only see it in your interests for what you think. I saw the quote and there was nothing you say.
The only piece of evidence I got was one quote, and it’s too ambiguous for me to believe. Besides, I think they would probably be a little more explicit for the series finale if that were the case.

Do not pretend as a couple. Rainbow dash is not interested in Soarin, it is a ship made by fans and on them was never a relationship, just friendship. Soarin is not her type, he has a wrinkle in the eye and is with Spitfire. Rainbow dash is with applejack. get it!
Well it’s possible she’s with Applejack. No confirmation yet, but any confirmation would both sink my OTP, and steal my waifu (Applejack).
I don’t think the time skip is that crazy, they look like they are in their 30’s close to 40s

Soarin is most likely in his sixties or seventies at this point in time, assuming he was in his thirties or forties before and the time-skip was twenty to thirty years.
soarin with spitfire are alwady old. And now rainbow dash in her past years was young and now she is completely older.

I don’t think there was much communication with dhx and boulder unfortunately
