Mulberry decides to head towards the Hotel Cormorant. If she’s going to be in Mournthread for the foreseeable future, it might be a good idea to get a room. More over, the coach pony said that people that walk through the fog wall don’t come out, so they must be staying somewhere.
She makes her way towards the hotel, passing the fish dormitory where the rude riff-raff were sitting. Luckily they seemed to have moved. She hides near what the map calls the blacksmith and checks to make sure Antione isn’t still looking from the landing. Not seeing him, she does her best to sneak to the hotel. The wooden building is pretty easy to find, as it has a well painted sign with a large black sea bird on it, under which the words “Hotel Cormorant” have been written. The mare enters.
The place is rather comfortable looking. The floor and walls are clean, polished wood, and the rugs and drapes are a deep, regal looking red with gold trim. There are paintings on the walls have beatiful ornate frames, and are well painted pictures of landscapes and various old looking gryphons andponies. There is a counter in a corner, atop which is a greeting book, as well as a flat surface to use to write on. In the opposite corner a table and some stools sitting beside the window. The place smells like delicious food, and she can only assume that’s coming from whoever is in the kitchen, as she can hear singing and music, as well as the clatter of pots and pans. There is a hallway across the room from the entrance. Walking to it, the first thing she spots is a door that reads “office”. To her left the smell of food gets stronger, and she can only assume the kitchen is that way.
Initially she thought the song, dance, and clatter metal utensils was all coming from the same place, but the merriment seems to be coming from upstairs.
She steps back into the front room and looks over the counter. There isn’t anyone here. How odd.
