Gotta give the kid credit, he went from being “Twilight’s Assistant/Little brother” to become the second most powerfully(politically speaking) behind only Twilight. Basically, if anything happened to Twilight, Spike would become Regent of Equestria and possibly take over as Emperor.

Y’know, the people known as “Spike-fans” are behind everything that says in the description. As you said, if anyone liked to see Spike being tortured and used as a punching bag, they wanted to give him a “new” character development by begging the writers to do so because they couldn’t stand any of that.
Spike got all credit for no reason in “The Crystal Empire” despite all the hard work and roles the other characters had played. Like Twilight, she did most of it.
In “Gauntlet of Fire,” I was wondering where Garble’s hatred of ponies came from and why anyone would invade an entire land to get something more comfortable to sleep on instead of rocks. And dragons aren’t able to use magic, so they are without a doubt weak and harmless enough.
Question. Do you people like watching him be tortured? Do you guys like seeing one character constantly abused and not developed? Do you guys not like character development?
“Well I do like character development, but” BUT NOTHING. Spike may be a very filler character that is a comic relief and just a punching bag for “haha look he’s stupid and annoying” but if everyone in the show is gonna be developing, then he’s gonna as well.
For what he is when he’s older, it makes sense. Since Twilight and Spike have grown up with each other, of course Spike would be at this spot. Spike never had his life outside of being a assistant to twilight. So he enjoys being with her and being a assistant, even if he has to travel and do negotiations with the other creatures.

Seiously ? Throughout the series, girls were considered adults and even they looked less adult than Spike looks now. Saying that he is underage is seriously ridiculous.
God, no matter how many things Spike acomplishes, there is always someone who doesn’t give him any right to grow ! It sounds like you don’t want him to be happy at all
Crystal empire: if spike wasn’t there twilight would have been traped, sombra would have won enslaved the crystal ponies and probibly started that war we saw in cutie re-mark.
Changelings:If spike hadn’t befriended thorax he probably would have died of starvation, Starlight and the others wouldn’t have been able to find their way around the hive Chrysalis wouldn’t have been overthrown and the princesses, mane 6,and probibly the rest of equestria would have spent the rest of their lives being feasted on.
Dragons: Without spike there Ember would have probibly drown, Someone else would have become dragon lord and one of two things would have happend. At best the new dragon lord would have been indifferent to equestria and relations would have remained strained between the two races. At worst the new dragon lord would have been hostile and attacked equestria.
Not to mention all the times spike suported twilight and reeled her in when she was depressed or looseing her mind (he contacted celestia during lesson zero.) His achievements may not have been all that flashy but if events played out without Spike things would be worse off.

With the show over, there’s nothing holding the comics back from making some big stories! In any case, they should be getting better since they’re the only G4-related thing left after the show ends!
Aren’t the comics non-canon and get even more dumb than the show a lot of the times?
I’m pretty sure he did something between the finale and the epilogue! We didn’t see ALL the windows! ;)
The comics’ll tell us! If Scorpan physically appears and meets the main cast, there’s a good chance of Spike doing something big there, due to their connection!
All hamfisted, barely significant or relied on others to actually do it.
What you’re missing is an actual moment Spike did anything noteworthy. Please do come back when you find something!
Crystal Empire, Dragons, Changelings, the events in the movie, was part of the final rainbow blast at the end of the finale… anything else I’m missing?

He never really had any impressive feats, except somehow being able to fight slightly below par an empowered alicorn cozy and chrysalis. Name anything he accomplished in the show. Only one I can think of was when he got wings and suddenly could flying perfectly and saved Rarity

Ehh. More like he went from being Twilight’s servant to Twilight’s servant. It’s more that Twilight’s position increased. If she didn’t become the new ruler of Equestria would he come to serve Luna and Celestia? I don’t think so.

Yet she completely brushed off his concerns and outbursts. Then again, him making such outbursts explains why she did.
Garble is teenager. Spike looks to be in his twenties for dragon age.

the dream self was that a dream his new form is clearly shows he grew from the puggy little welp he was by having some traits that carry over like the nose
Yeah! He looks like the buff guys you’d find in a Micheal Bay flick!
