Well, the reason they are stopping the show is because changing your animation, writing, and studio after 9 years could really backfire. If they continue it, it WILL be different from what we are used to, and that will hurt it. Instead, if they let a new series pick up FiM, those changes will be much better received. Unfortunately, business did screw up a good thing. Thankfully, Hasbro does still care, the closest thing to a co-creator FiM has is completely in control now, and so I think what is coming next we will all really enjoy.  
As for going stale, not particularly. They still have alot more to tell, as the new comics show.

As for the ten year reboot myth, that has not been true for nearly twenty years. G4 is in fact lasting for a confirmed 12, with more potentially after.  
G1 lasted around 10, G2 lasted around 2, G3 for 7.  
Transformers has not had a generation reboot since the end of G1. For the last nearly 20 years, instead, Tramsformers has split in to aligned and non-aligned continuity. Anything they want to be a lasting part of the franchise goes into the aligned continuity, anything that either doesnt work or they aren’t so sure they want to keep goes into non-aligned.  
For example, Transformers Prime, Tranformers Robots in Disguise, Transformers Rescue Bots, and Rescue Bots academy are all one ongoing timeline. At the same time that is going on, Transformers Cyberverse has created it’s own reboot.  
So, generational reboots are not this inflexible ten year hard reset alot of people believe they are.  
They are simply used whenever a toy is so out of date it cannot appeal to kids no matter how they advertise it, and G4 is no where near that point.

The leaks didn’t come from Hasbro. They came fron DHX. And if you look at what Hasbro has ordered be created for foreseeable future, it is entirely G4. Honestly, there is are some hints that the G5 leaks were either tampered with or faked.  
As for the series, TV is on the decline, and is very expensive for the return in toy sales they get.  
Remember, the show is first and foremost an advertisement. It needs to sell toys well. TV isn’t doing that as well anymore. Hour long specials, full movies, and web series are easier and cheaper to make, and they provide better control over advertising.  
Plus, the comics are very popular. I honestly kinda like some more than the show. I’m glad that they keep them seperate. But, I would not be surprised if we get a G4 animated web series.  
Another reason for why FiM is ending?  
Well, business. DHX is not owned by Hasbro. They had a business partnership, and Hasbro has been wanting to make more animated content. DHX was rather expensive and wanted more pay in exchange for the new projects Hasbro wanted, so Hasbro purchased Boulder Media as their own animation studio to keep their animation projects affordable. They cannot afford to keep two full animation studios for one show, so DHX and Hasbro ended their partnership in 2017, with their contract expiring this year.  
And since FiM is on it’s 9th season, suddenly changing studios would probably be a disaster. It makes sense to let FiM end and let G4 continue through Boulder Media. They were the ones who did the Rainbow Roadtrip special, and that was a seriously good special. The story is not ending. The comics, the live stage show, EQG, etc… are all continuing that story.  
As for the emotional impact, grief is hard for everyone. And simply saying “it’s just a show” doesn’t help. If you feel like you are struggling, get help.  
That said, I think most bronies are attatched to these ponies. And they aren’t going anywhere. We will experience them and their stories through new means, but what we read and watch going forward will still be them. So, we aren’t letting go of pony. It is less like losing and more like growth. Instead of say…death, it is more like going to college, if that makes sense.

No one can replace Tara Strong for something like this.If they thing that this will work with another actress they so wrong.The fandom will not be happy if they do something like that.They will be infuriated at them for doing this and they deserve whatever is coming for them

Oh, you should check it out!! It is actually really good, and really expands on the show. We get Sombra’s backstory and redemption, we get Discord’s crazy stalker, we get Luna and Celestia getting quite a bit more time with characters, etc…  
The newest comic is about Rarity and is Christmas themed, etc…  
There are like, 83 main issues, plus the EQG comics, and the mini comics. IDW confirmed we are getting at least another 20, and that they have big plans now that the animated series has ended.  
Plus, despite the leaks, most of the cast and staff seem to doubt them.  
DHX employees have openly said that they did not work on G5 and that are not aware of G5 and even Tara Strong said Twilight is returning in 2021 for the movie and that she personally believes FiM will be back in some form soon.  
Most of the people who are saying G4 is over are saying so out of “fact-pinion” at this point. Nothing official says so.

The show will be continued through the comic series. IDW already confirmed that.

All the people that leaked these here and hasbro and my little pony official showing the season 9 trailer that its ending I hate you so much.These leaks destroyed me emotionally and mentally and I feel awful now thanks to some people and hasbro ending mlp fim and going in g5.They could still do so much.Other series have hundreds of episodes but with this there was still space for more.To explore new villains in the show and more but they decided to get Celestia and Luna out of the show and everyone else close to twilight that she calls family except her friends.

Huh? She was always named Rainbow Dash. Her parents named her. And her cutie mark is still the same, heck all their cutie mark’s are the same.  
Basically, the way destiny works in writing would be that a set number of things, big and small, must happen in every reality. You write.  
The Mane 6 exist in G4 across all realities. They always end up friends. They all have their cutie marks, and their cutie marks are always the same.  
Perhaps in every reality, Rainbow does something to set their destiny in motion. Every reality has that thing affect the mane 6, setting them on their personal destinies.  
Fluttershy talks to animals because of it, Twilight experiences magic because of it, AJ is confronted by home because of it, Rarity finds her passion, etc…  
Cutie Remark shows that if that is forcibly stopped, reality tends to fall apart.  
So, how G5 could go, to use two of my favorite ponies (Twi and AJ for example).  
RD does her sonic rainboom, or it’s equivalent in this take on FiM. That confronts AJ, who has gone to the big city. She gets her cutie mark, but instead of going home, the lure of fame and riches is too much, and she never really leaves Manehatten. The city and it’s coldness, greed, and dishonesty corrupt her. Then, after meeting Twi and her new friends, she understands her cutie mark, much like Diamond Tiara eventually does. Same story and destiny as FiM 1.0, but more explored.  
With Twi, let’s say…hmmm…let’s keep it as close to FiM 1.0 as possible!! Twilight is trying to study under Celestia, but without being a unicorn, her chances are just as bad she has in FiM 1.0. She gives up, crushed that magic is something she will never experience, never learn. Just then, the rainboom happens. But, instead of being startled by it and hatching Spike, she stares in awe at something wonderous, despite feeling like she will never experience it for herself, when suddenly, her cutie mark appears!! Celestia sees this, and recognizes that Twilight has a place in the friendship of magic and accepts her. Same story, same way she got her cutie mark, with a new meaning behind it.  
Destiny.  
That ending effed me up too man. It got me hard. Only thing that helps is that Hasbro just ordered that a whole ton of FiM comics be made by IDW, EQG is confirmed not to be ending soon, and Tara Strong hinted that she is coming back for the 2021 movie.  
G4 is definitely not ending for another two years, and FiM will be continued by the comics, EQG, and perhaps some other content. As we get closer to 2021 we will learn if the G5 leaks were real.

So starting with a complete mess.  
Lauren Faust was not alone in creating FiM. Her co-creator was Meghan McCarthy, who is now the head of MLP’s storytelling.  
Secondly, Lauren and her team have not worked on MLP since season 1. Meghan McCarthy has. She was the one to argue that Hasbro should embrace bronies. She wrote some of our favorite episodes. She wrote the movie. Now, she is in charge of whatever comes next.  
As for timelines.  
Twilight might have everything ruined. Or she could still become her student after she demonstrates a unrealized understanding of the magic of friendship.  
Fluttershy might not get her cutie mark with RD. Maybe she gets it in the gardens of Canterlot, with Rarity.  
Maybe RD and Pinkie get their cutie marks together.  
Or maybe the rainboom doesnt happen. Maybe the Mane 6 have deeper storylines as to how they become friends, a quieter hand of destiny this time around.  
And they did not make these changes to piss people off.  
Also, remember that these leaks are not proven authentic. And they have a ton of tells that suggest that they are in fact, false.

But still its just so wrong to change our loved pony characters like that.It ruins a lot of things from the g4 timeline.Examlpe twilight will never be Celestias student and will never become the princess she once was.Fluttershy will never get her cutie mark for the animals if she never meets Rainbow Dash in flight school and so on.You understand what Im thinking here dont you?Whatever anyone says these characters hold a very special place in my heart and I dont care if they say its a show for little girls.Wrong its not.Everyone can enjoy this show no matter what.So seeing how they handled this for g5 and made them completely wrong makes me sick to the core.Hasbro has so many toy lines that it would be no problem to keep the same ponies but just change their appearance and not their species.They just made this to anger people in the fandom that that the show holds a very special place in their heart like myself.So if they go that route it will be their own fault if their toys and the show doesnt go well.They cant do g5 as perfect as g4 without Lauren Faust and her team.They knew how to make the show but now with the new team that hasbro hired for the g5 I doubt it that the show will be as good.It will be a comlete mess and ruin how the show goes.Everything will probably be jumbled up in the show.Entire timelines ruined families never made friends also.Its just really saddening and dissappointing to see this show go like that sigh
