Also, there’s no proof that you age while petrified, so that’s on the table as well.
Possibly if you can’t cast an age spell on someone other than yourself (without the Alicorn Amulet), petrify them until you can gather the materials for a youth potion. (Might be rare materials involved, who knows)
As I’ve said before though, it might be an interesting idea if some of her friends wanted to pass on, while others don’t.
@sonicfan
Or refuse to give up. There are age spells and time travel spells, and limbo is something we’ve seen as a seemingly effective parallel to cryonics.
The way that I see this is the potential for her character development to progress in one of two ways. One way is for her to honor the memory of her friends and recall her time spent with them with fondness, yet choose to enrich her life and the lives of others by becoming friends with other ponies/creatures.
Another direction I could see her character developing is to become melancholy and depressed, isolating herself from others, because interpersonal interactions become painful for her in the wake of her friends’ deaths. She might subsist day after day and fulfill her duties as a Princess of Equestria, but she doesn’t live like she used to. She doesn’t feel the joy or happiness that she did while she had her five friends.
Either way would make for a pretty good story if written well.
@Eclipse Wing
If she’s showing no outward signs of it, she won’t be showing any inward signs of it. You don’t age without showing it, that just isn’t how it works.
Why hope that Twi will get alzheimer’s disease? Better to hope she’ll save the rest of the mane 6 from that fate.

Discord has an out: if he isn’t chaotic for an extended period of time, he gets erased from existence. If he so wishes, he can simply choose to fade away along with them.
Considering Discord’s powers aren’t invincible, him being possible to depower, overpower, and weaken (Tatzlwurm slime), it is probably possible to kill him, but it’s a hard task.
I have to be honest here, it seems like the only true immortal who will have to suffer the deaths of all these wonderful characters is Discord. There’s pretty much no way to kill him truly
I love a good tearjerker every now and again. I think Twilight being immortal is certainly a valid interpretation, soley based off of what is presented in the show. Of course you could also make an argument against it. It seems to me it was kept purposefully ambiguous. It’s the end of the show, and there’s a lot about how Alicorns work that’s still pretty fuzzy. Personally, I think Twiliht being immortal is the more interesting concept from a story telling perspective, but that’s just my own preference. Even if we get a tweet trying to confirm one way or another, I’d take hat with a pinch of salt- I’m more a fan of the ‘death of the author’ approach to consuming fiction. No one can tell you how to interpret something, the work has to stand for itself. Especially when really, My Little Pony has always been a product of multiple conflicting visions.
You know what else I niticed when looking at this picture? Applejack is wearing Granny Smtih’s scarf. It just hit me that Granny Smith is almost certainly dead and Applejack is wearing that as a memento.
I seriously doubt that Twilgiht is immortal, because to begin, remember that it is confirmed that Celestia and Luna come from an ancient race of alicorns that existed long before Equestria was founded, which shortly after began to govern, so if they were already immortal for some reason long before they ruled Equestria, then I doubt that the other alicorns are too, especially Twilight despite her grown appearance just because she now rules Equestria. Which I do not think is a task to do for all eternity, that is, in a showcase we saw a grown Flurry Heart that seems to be the new ruler of the Crystal Empire, which clearly was a task that Cadence would not do for eternity either .
Rather, I think that the great size that Twilight reached at that time (Approximately 20 years) must be a sign of maturity for the alicorns, if it is true that when Cadence was a teenager, she looked just like Twilight in the present and did not change much in time what happened, but Cadence was an alicorn since she was a child so it can be understood that she did not grow enough when Twilight became an adult, but Twilight was already an adult when she became an alicorn so it is normal that she was almost mid age Poisonous to having gray hair or wrinkles is the same size as Celestia, and I think Cadence would also be the same size.
@Background Pony #008B
Thats were you are wrong.Indeed she isnt immortal neither is Celestia or Luna.They just grow more slowly and as Celestia and Luna are 1050+ years old so will Twilight reach that age and then pass away after some years.So yeah she will outlive her friends and only spike will stay with her the longest except if they both decide to die along with their friends.And in the end from all the princesses flurry heart will have no family which is really sad cause she is the last princess.She wont have her mother her father her aunt twilight her grandmother velvet and her grand father night light.Its just so sad to think about how her whole life will be after she witnesses the death of her whole family and be the last one.She will just want to give up on everything and die just to be with them again which will probably make her happy to see them again after so long.
@Danilo
Not at all, man. Not at all. I feel the same way here, unless we get a tweet or a post from one of the writers confirming otherwise. Can someone get a response from the writers, please?
