Once Rarity peacefully passes on, having been the fifth and final mortal member of the main six to die, and Twilight is all alone, vulnerable without her friends or princesses to call on, Spike is finally able to enact his revenge for all that time he was forced to sleep in a doggy bed as a child.

Precisely. It was a bad decision then and it’s a bad decision now. And the thing about it is they didn’t even embrace it.
It was all half assed, they didn’t benefit from rejecting the disney princess narrative, and they didn’t benefit from embracing it as best as possible either. Twilight simply became more obsessed with brown nosing Celestia and the idea that Twilight could rule was…laughable at best. Even the movie pointed out that the princess of friendship was the protagonist least interested in friendship, like she always was among the Mane 6.
She will lived over century later like Celestia and Luna, also the only creature that she going to be with in the future is Discord, Celestia , Luna , Cadance and Flurry heart maybe Spike also including the 3 villains that been turn into stone. While the ponies and other creature around them comes and go.
The source of canon that says/implies there was an ancient “alicorn race” is a book that has had parts of it retconned, multiple times.
Why didn’t Celestia and Luna chime in with “hey, actually, we were born alicorns, been this way as long as we can remember, but both of our parents were alicorns too” in the S6 premiere? Did they not trust Twilight and her friends for some inexplicable reason? Why would they be withholding information? What would be so bad about correcting Rarity’s thought that you had to earn alicornhood with personal experience on their parts?
Also, I think it would he ludicrous to assume Twilight couldn’t cast age spells on herself, when she’s officially more powerful than Star Swirl, which would honestly not be functionally different from “Twilight Sparkle is just biologically immortal as an alicorn.”
I seriously doubt that Twilgiht is immortal, because to begin, remember that it is confirmed that Celestia and Luna come from an ancient race of alicorns that existed long before Equestria was founded, which shortly after began to govern, so if they were already immortal for some reason long before they ruled Equestria, then I doubt that the other alicorns are too, especially Twilight despite her grown appearance just because she now rules Equestria. Which I do not think is a task to do for all eternity, that is, in a showcase we saw a grown Flurry Heart that seems to be the new ruler of the Crystal Empire, which clearly was a task that Cadence would not do for eternity either .
Rather, I think that the great size that Twilight reached at that time (Approximately 20 years) must be a sign of maturity for the alicorns, if it is true that when Cadence was a teenager, she looked just like Twilight in the present and did not change much in time what happened, but Cadence was an alicorn since she was a child so it can be understood that she did not grow enough when Twilight became an adult, but Twilight was already an adult when she became an alicorn so it is normal that she was almost mid age Poisonous to having gray hair or wrinkles is the same size as Celestia, and I think Cadence would also be the same size.
I mean, the person made the mistake of specifying “all her friends”.
Meaning that as long as she doesn’t outlive at least one of them, then she wasn’t lying.
And its very likely for dragons to live as long as alicorns.
As long as Spike remains with her all her life, she won’t “outlive all her friends”.
