It’s just the preview. I can take the SVG and render a 65536x65536 image of it if I want.
Derpibooru creates PNG previews of SVGs, because rendering SVGs is much more CPU intensive than rendering PNGs. So those people can download PNG versions from the source or they can just right click -> save the previews.

SVGs are ‘scalable vector graphics’. They’re vectors that are actually in the vector format, not rastors like PNGs are. SVGs are preferred because they are the original file format.
Which incidentally, is why most PNG vectors are so huge in the first place.

From what I’ve been told, they prefer to keep SVGs because their file sizes are generally smaller. And unlike PNGs, they can be scaled infinitely.

What’s the difference?
Don’t be surprised if the mods decide to keep this because its an SVG.
