G5 is not G4.
Not sure if it was planed to add them in the Movie, because of the Models of Twilight, Fluttershy and Rainbow.
If they appear in the show like that, with Twilight as Earth Pony, how they then explain Alicorn Twilight in the Movie?
A possible Option, the Portals, like used in Equestria Girls.
The Past Argyle has found about the Mane 6 are from the FiM Universe (G4), in AnG (G5) the Mane 6, if they exist as Group are like the Leaks with 3 Members with different Races.
Maybe we know more with the 45 Min Special (maybe not a good Idea, if you want to add an new IP, only to show a single Special in 1 Year, between Movie and Show).

You know if Pony Life really is G5, then it’s going to make a mess of our tags. Every single Pony Life image would now need to be tagged G5 and I’m not even sure what images like this would be tagged or what would happen to all those G5 character tags (which have hundreds of images and rising).
 
And it would be funny how the earliest speculation on this toy being for the new movie ended up being correct.

Oh, yeah. They mentioned in the PonyLife announcment that PonyLife is the preparation for the new movie. So, yeah. G5 seems like it maybe became Ponylife?  
Like, the marketing redesigns became Ponylife, and the more serious story became season 10 and beyond.  
But, the last word of G5 as most people know it was back in 2017, then it was denied by DHX in 2018.

Unless something new was announced since the last time I checked, the only thing Hasbro has ever said about the movie was the date, that it is CGI, and that it won’t be a sequel to the 2017 movie.

Again, this is fandom speculation.  
Hasbro said the movie is a PonyLife movie, and that Ponylife is the next era of MLP. It is literally on every PonyLife marketing piece. Sadly, our fandom guessed wrong.

G5 movie is coming September 24th, 2021, It’s unknown when the series will start but likely 2022. Pony Life is just something to fill in the time before it gets released.

She isn’t going anywhere. Ponylife is confirmed as the next era of MLP, and it apparently stars Pinkie. Same character, VA and everything.  
G5 has been dead silent for years now, so it was probably either scrapped when Meghan left or it evolved over time into PonyLife.

She’s to much of a beloved character to be forgotten.  
Also the only difference I see in the designs and personalities of g4 pinkie and g5 pinkie is that g5 pinkie has wings. We all know pinkie is a 5th wall breaker, so why doesn’t she just. I don’t know, hop into adobe and give herself wings?

Good news is AFAIK that a brony fan artist is going to be part of the character design team, and they want to upgrade the target age audience from 3-5 to older kids. So hopefully the writers won’t have so much tied behind their backs.

The important thing to remember is that the leaks in this case were just developmental concepts. Though we are quite certain the direction they’re going in, it’s entirely possible that the Mane 6 won’t even be the main characters come the new series.
 
I would hope, and like to think, that Hasbro would keep the same world of Equestria, just pick a different focus or different part of the timeline. That’s how all successful franchises such as this do it. A reboot can work, but it’s incredibly risky because we all grew attached and familiar to these characters.

G3 didn’t have a following several million strong. It didn’t have 50 conventions worldwide like we did in 2014-15. It didn’t have art books, novels, hundreds of comics, a theatrical movie, and support a fanbase so deep that hundreds of artists can make a living on it. Comparing the concept of change from older generations is simply not applicable because previous generations didn’t have a significant following, it barely had a cult following.
 
But even so, what we’re potentially looking at is Teen Titans to Teen Titans Go. It’s a very real and legitimate fear.

But trust me, I read the leaks. I do not necessarily believe they are true, but if they are, only Applejack got any personality changes, and those are surface level at best.  
Twi doesnt have a horn, but her magic IS friendship, so her power is just more focused.  
Fluttershy does, but she is still a shy nature lover who is defined by kindness.  
Rainbow is literally unchanged. She has bigger wings. Her personality is completely untouched.  
Same with Pinkie. A ball of pink hapiness. Her body gives her more freedom to be a goofball now.  
Rarity is unchanged, as well.  
Asides from artistic design, these ponies are identical.  
To be honest, G5, if true, is more like G4.5 than G5.
