You can’t spell “Wikipedia” without W A C K I.
Hell with power like that, you take a creature from the depths of cryptozoology and bring it into the realm of “see, I told you they really do exist! It says so right here, on Wikipedia!”
Remember, “Wikipedia is the online encyclopedia that anyone can edit!” ANYONE.
I don’t know him personally but a friend of a friend of mine has a hobby of writing intricate and detailed fake Wikipedia articles, about things like fish species that do not really exist. One of them stayed up for several days before it was noticed, but usually they take them down in a few hours.
Oh wow I wish I could have seen that, after all of these years people promoting some kind of greater good ideal for the culture of Wikipedia, kind of like the innocent idea of buying computers for kids in the 90s will make them smarter and help them do their homework every night…
Wasn’t such a good idea to let people register for accounts to modify Wikipedia pages huh?
There is a Wikipedia article for the term “corm,” which is apparently a certain part of a plant. For some years people kept changing the image it linked to, to the one you posted. Good times.
@Flummoxed Phoenix
Don’t you like corm?
I remember seeing that on 4chan like in the early 2000’s.
@Flummoxed Phoenix
It’s similar to another dumb thing from classic 4chan called “quality cabbage”
“Classic meme”? I’ve been on the internet since the early 90s, and I don’t know what you’re talking about.
