I understand getting inspiration from the movie… but the rover from the movie is… not proper…
Dogman15
Pixel Perfection - I still call her Lightning Bolt
Lunar Supporter - Helped forge New Lunar Republic's freedom in the face of the Solar Empire's oppressive tyrannical regime (April Fools 2023).
Non-Fungible Trixie -

I'm not famous.

Avonder says “I don’t know where you’re looking for the first part, the rover and trailer are clearly standing at an angle.”

Messaged him; he gave me permission to pass along his response to here.

To summarize, it’s a perspective issue. It’s the angle we’re viewing it from.

A-ma-zing. Read “The Maretian”, loved it, came for the artwork, and boy it’s great. I kinda can nitpick about it being not very true to the story (Friendship hull is not secured to the rover, rover itself looks like a single, monolithic vehicle instead of being a two-part trailer (it really should have looked like one of the 18-wheelers except the puller and the trailer should be almost equal in length), and the front chassis of Friendship is missing (which, in-universe, supports it’s overhanging nose)).
But I wrote all that nitpicking mostly because I saw something reminding me of that story and it made me trip down the memory lane, so good job!

Holy crap on a cracker this is awesome! The Maretian was one of my favourite experiences on FIMFiction. I went in expecting a silly crossover, and it ended up just as good as the original book! Whenever I think of a Mark Watney quote, I have to stop and think “Which book?”

The only downside is the price. I’m happy there is a physical book, and I wish it well, but $150 is out of my price range for the moment. Maybe someday.
