As I said, Fimfiction has an option to have this built into the webpage, you don’t need the desktop ponies program downloaded to get it from there. You can check under your profile’s Local Settings page for the “Show Interactive Pony” option. Several Tumblr blogs also had this running with their OCs, there is a version you can put in your webpages that can be configured however the site’s developer wants.
 
The desktop ponies program just lets you run it locally for you whole desktop instead of being restricted to running it in a browser window. There even seems to be several different versions for all 3 major OS, and even a Live Wallpaper version for Android Phones. No. I don’t have that. I just logged into my Fimfiction account and Rainbiw Dash started roaming around my screen then fell asleep.

There is a program called “Desktop Ponies” that you can download to have them on your desktop. Someone also made a version that can be used by website devs to add them to a website specifically, Fimfiction being one of these sites. Under you Fimfiction settings there is an option “Show Interactive Pony” under the “Local Settings” page. It only seems to show Rainbow Dash though, I remember the Downloadable app having a lot to chose from. I haven’t run the app on my PC in a while though, probably since S3 or so, so I don’t know if it’s still actively developed.
