Looks like someone doesn’t want people to ship their waifu. And the fact they try to use age as their reasoning shows exactly how distant they are from reality. Age doesn’t matter in shipping, get over it.

Wasn’t she in kindergarten when she hatched Spikes egg? That would make her like 5 years old.and kids can learn to read as early as 4 years old anyway. I’d say at the least Spike is 4 years younger then Twilight.

Given that Twilight was old enough to read, I’d say she’s at least 8 years older than Spike.  
And given that the Mane 6 are, AFAIK, supposed to be in their early 20s at the moment, Spike would be in his mid-teens at the highest.
 
Having said that, just to be clear, I’m not here to dunk on anyone’s OTP – at least not seriously…

Given that Twilight was a blank flank when she hatched Spike, he can’t be THAT much younger than them to not work the relationship, though people do think he is a kid because he is small and seems childlike. In reality, he has enough brains to outsmart Twilight and Shining Armor in their competition, is charismatic, and we can assume that he isn’t an idiot given he can keep up with Twilight and foresee her needs before she speaks them. He can most likely sort the books in library, which means he must know their contents to not make a mistake, which would upset Twilight.
 
As a Twispike shipper, I don’t see him as a kid, since Twilight wouldn’t survive for long without him to keep her from constant twilighting. It’s reason I am not fond of Sparity too much, because either she sees his advances but does nothing to address the issue, or she simply is too self centered to see them altogether.

1 i hate fluttercord because of the fans say terrible stuff to celestiacord shippers and also ignore the obvious showings in the show that discord likes celestia and vice versa and why i want discord to be with celestia because there close to the same age and both immortal and i want the character that i like to be happy i want to end the show knowing that he is with someone who can live just as long as he does.
 
as for the spike and rarity thing: age difference DOES matter and people who say is not just shows how insane and gross people will go just to justify their ship; when in reality it’s only just friendship, and it won’t ever happen anyways. why can’t people see that (for example) a 20 year old dating a 90 or even 1000 year old (if it could happen) is gross and wrong i don’t care if in the past did it it does not mean it’s ok now, they could be their grandpa or grandma EW. again i’m sure no wait in fact i’m POSITIVE that the mane 6 won’t get shipped in the show because fans would go nuts really, so no point in arguing people can ship whatever but these fluttercords should back off,leave the celestiacord shippers alone and stop saying their ship will be canon because guess what IT WON’T.
