Sorry to hear that.

Maybe I’m just projecting my own experience here, my own parents divorced over ten years ago. My father did every backhanded trick in the book to keep me away from home while he and his extended family came and took all his stuff with him after getting my mother in trouble with the law. I’ve had (and still have) nothing but contempt for him and his entire side of the family.

Well, she doesn’t seem to be interested in helping herself, that’s for sure. And I think it’s less of depression and more of her just having a self-destructive personality.
 
And do you know how she learn of Jet not using potection? It seems that the only way was through Jet telling her off screen, since there would be no other way for her to know that the accident wasn’t so accidental. That implies that Jet does care about Delta on a level, and that he’s help may be more genuine than you think. I still say that they’re both shitty people for what they did and/or are doing. Agree to disagree?

You can’t solve depression with a snap of your fingers. She needs help, but she won’t take it from her family. Because she doesn’t trust them.
 
As for Jet, nothing he says or does can be believed at face value. He probably just wants to give himself a pat on the back for proving he is the breadwinner he always dreamed of being. You ever think Delta won’t accept his help because she knows it’s not genuine?

I think Apogee is concerned about Delta offing herself if left alone. And that doesn’t explain why Delta couldn’t have gotten her degree afterwards. I mean, she was going for a degree in space engineering, so I doubt that she wasn’t smart enough to make up for lost time. I still say that Delta is guilty of letting one setback ruin her life and choosing to stay in the past instead of using it to motivate her (like getting her degree and joining another group that’s working on space-stuff to surpass Jet instead of just sitting around and cursing him at her own pity party), and letting that bitterness do more harm to Apogee than Jet, the one she’s suppose to hate. I just think that currently, Jet is the better parent at least, and shows more interest in making it up to Delta than Delta is to herself, with Apogee being a victim of it.
 
Still, anyone who is willing to be a halfway decent parent would know that stuff like teasing their child of their dream is thin ice, something that Delta didn’t even considered. And to me, she’s pitiful of Apogee, like you would a dog that just wanted some food after you threw a rock at it.

Because she wants to be left alone. Is it right? No. Apogee has every right to want to be a part of her mother’s life. But when you consider how much hurt all of this has brought Delta, can you really blame her? Sometimes the only way you can help the ones you love is by letting them go. That’s the lesson Jet should have learned in the beginning and now Apogee is left to learn it for herself, through no fault of her own.
 
As for the emotional abuse, Delta has been quick to try and make amends every time she makes a mistake. It’s not like she actually hates Apogee.

I don’t disagree with what Jet did was horrible, just that Delta isn’t much better at this point, spitting poison at Apogee, who’s biggest crime is wanting to be in Delta’s life, instead of keeping it between her and Jet. She is so insensitive and bitchy to Apogee to the point of making her cry actual tears. If that isn’t a form of mental/psychological abuse, I don’t know what is.

I couldn’t find anything about the NSFW piece but it’s clear from the page you’re talking about that when forced to choose between letting Delta go to pursue her career or do whatever it takes to keep her close, he decided to clip her wings by lying about the pregnancy and essentially keeping her as a pet wife. That’s vile no matter how you slice it.

I think he’s written himself into a corner. The revelation that Jet Stream pressured Delta Vee into sex, lied about contraception, and ruined her career so he could possessively provide for her jumped the shark. There is no realistic way to thaw her pure hatred of him and make them a family again, which is Apogee’s entire character arc in the story. Now it just feels like sad drama for the sake of sad drama and that just isn’t my thing, not anymore anyway. It’s drawn out longer than it needs to be.
