Beryl was walking around in the Ponyville’s park. He was going to see his crush friend Poison Sweets for a little day of spending time together. She mentioned one of her siblings may join her. But either way, he’s happy and can’t wait to see her for the day. And nothing will distract him-
“No no, mom won’t like that.”
…. Or maybe something can. He turned to the voices and saw his brother and sister sitting at a bench while looking at a scroll, his brother writing on the scroll with a feather dipped in ink. Curiosity taking over his mind and almost forgetting about his plans for the day, he walked over to his siblings.
“Hi Lucid! Hi Nova!” He greeted them. Lucid jumped a bit as Hypernova looked over at his older brother.
“Oh hey Beryl.” He greeted in return. “What brings you here?”
“I was gonna hang out with Poison Sweets!” Beryl answered happily with a slight pink appearing on his cheeks. “What are you and Lucid doing?”
“Just getting ideas for how to get mom and Miss Marble to date.” Hypernova answered clearly. This took Beryl by surprise. Weren’t they together already?
“How interesting.” Beryl commented with obvious interest. “But I thought they were together already?” He questioned. Now it was Lucid’s turn to answer.
“Well, we thought so too.” She spoke in a somewhat low voice. “But we overheard Aunt Pinkie talk to Miss Marble about dating and-“
“And we overheard her say how she hasn’t found anyone!” Hypernova interrupted with surprise and a bit of irritation. He must’ve thought the same like Beryl did. “So, if they won’t date themselves, we’ll help them out.”
Hypernova turned the scroll to Beryl so he could see what was written on it. “Dating Ideas” was written on the top as their was a list of dating scenarios with mom and mama Marble. Some ideas were crossed out as a few had a question mark next to them. As he can tell, they had no good ideas at all.
“Wow…. You and Lucid are working really hard on this.” Beryl complimented.
“Thanks.” Hypernova said as he looked over the list once again. “If you can’t tell, we’re not having any good luck with playing matchmaker.” Lucid looked away like she was a bit ashamed of not thinking of anything good. But Beryl might have one…
“How about just a day with just the two of them?” Beryl suggested. “I mean, we can find a day to do our own thing and give mom and mama Marble the idea that they should hang out together.”
“Beryl, that’s-“ Hypernova paused as he began to think. “…. That might work! Not as romantic as I hoped but it’s a step close.” He took the feather and started to write down the idea, underlining it so that way it stood out from the others.
Beryl was happy to help his brother reach closer to a conclusion. Though, he can’t help but wonder: Will mom and mama Marble be fine with this?
He thought about the times mama Marble made mom smile when she was sad, how her and her aunts helped mom with getting away from his mean dad, and even the times when mom needed help from mama Marble with her eyesight. Beryl has seen his mom do things for mama Marble in return. Like the times she helped mama Marble and Auntie Limestone around the rock farm and helped cook when it was a special even or if she just wanted to give Limestone a break from cooking.
…. Maybe… Maybe her prayer did give her an answer for her loneliness. And it wasn’t just himself that was an answer.
