Description
While Maudbriar went and settled for a small gentle and cheerful sweetheart Maud went and ventured … in a different direction.
These two certainly are a story of their own but the kind of couple one better not questions.
Studying strata and sedements as intensively as Maud does, it would be a miracle if she didn’t stumble upon the occasional dragon of course, additionally she is still the beloved sister of one of the elements of harmony, so being invited to official functions as a +1 wasn’t rare either, really it was unavoidable for Maud Pie and Dragon Lord Ember to exchange words sooner or later.
A pony that was not constantly smiling and talking aswell as buff and with an impeccable taste for gems, certainly the best guide for a Dragoness to stick to when surrounded by multicolored little equines.
Maud was a mixture of bored and silently intrigued herself, fancy parties quickly grew boring as only few ponies understood her passions but just as she had gotten along well with Spike in the past, Maud again bonded well with the dragon around.
Ember, being a Gem eating dragon and a professional tail-kicker herself appreciated Mauds knowledge and physically imposing statue about as much as her quiet and interestingly un-pony like aesthetic.
Cutting out the messy dating inbetween, Maud and Ember are currently engaged (by dragon standarts at least) and despite Ember reassuring her pony mate that she could date whoever she wished, Maud made it a point to break the tail of any Drake who tried to fight for mating rights with the Dragon lord.
In fact a large chunk of Mauds scars were from said fights.
Of course Ember ultimately stopped these duels as they were primitive and useless, she’d eat whoever rips her chosen mate appart rather then lifting tail for them.
During the dueling tho Maud effectively secured herself the respect and admiration of a good chunk of the Dragon fray (of course every royal couple has their fair share of neigh-sayers)
The circlets on their upper arms are made from the same materials as Embers Fletchling Armor and gems are chosen by Maud specifically for their strong composition and color matching her dragon Lord, Ember was all but touched by the gesture but of course only flushed and blubbered about how she’s impressed with Maud, being a pony and all.
Jup Ember is the emotional one in this relationship
And yes they regularly fight for dominance, in little wrestling matches as much as staring contests and whispering a mixture of threats and raunchy thoughts at each other.
They’re a terrifying power couple to be sure.

Thank you. You have good taste too, Eqq. I didn’t even notice that they both had blue partners until you brought it up. That’s rather cute. I guess the two of them have more in common.
hah I mean don’t get me wrong, I love the princess and her dragon aesthetic for Rarara and Ember, they seem like a wild duo fpfp

Yeah, I think the fact that the two of them know Spike is probably the reason why people pair them up more since it’s a bit easier to come up with ideas of how the two would interact together (Spike could have perhaps had them meet each other and they bond or something along those lines).
As much as I love fluff (both the literal and metaphorical kind), I also love dragons and badass ladies so this is right up my alley.
Better late than never. I enjoy seeing your art.
Same same, I mean even Ember and Rarity have more pieces for similar reasons I feel (then again they’re spikes love interests and are often depicted together bcs of that hm)
I liked the ship after I thought about it a lil, prob the least fluffy one so far but I mean who needs fluff if you can have badass ladies amiright ?
