Luna’s body gets a reddish hue during the blood moon.
She’s not very fond of it as it gives others the impression that she’s embarrassed.
(I cannot say this was my idea though, I got some inspiration from previous “blood moon Luna” images on derpibooru).

The “super” part comes from the moon being the closest to Earth it will be all year. And in Native American tradition January’s full moon is called a “Wolf moon”.

For some reason this eclipse is being dubbed the “Super Blood Wolf Moon.” How it got that name, I have no idea, but it sounds absolutely metal.
