I’m reminded of a bit in the fanfic “Friendship is Adventuring” (a D&D crossover fic) where it’s first mentioned, then demonstrated, that if you can move faster than sound (and if your target doesn’t have line of sight to you), you can sneak up on someone very, very quickly.

Rainbow, your Sonic Rainboom is the complete opposite of stealthy. It’s loud, bright, and flashy. The purpose of stealth, is to be silent, blend in with your environment, and remain unseen. The Sonic Rainboom is the stealth equivalent of painting a bullseye on your body and holding the crossbow right in the center of the bullseye and goading the archer to pull the trigger.
