I wasn’t comparing them to Sonic, I just meant similar to him their design isn’t 100% like an actual horse. Sure they have four legs, a tail, mane, ect., but they’re still very caricatured, oddly chibi preportioned, and cartoony, especially compared to past generation MLP cartoons that looked a li’l more horse-like, but still had cartoonish proportions, and properties.

They have some quirks but my main point is that the ponies are not even comparable to sonic the hedgehog. They’re stylized ponies that still retain a horse like shape. As for their “anthro” or more accurately human features they’re basically minor.

I wasn’t claiming they’re the same thing, design-wise, and I can understand some disliking anthro’, (as some of it is odd, or perv’y) but my whole point was basically it just seems odd for them to act like they’re all “horrible abominations,” because the quadruped forms have quirks too.

It’s not ironic in anyway. The ponies may display some physical human characteristics but even when they’re bipedal they’re just that. Their bipedal form isn’t human. They’re stylezed but generally they retain a horse like shape. In comparison your average anthro is just a funny colored human with superficial pony traits tacked in like cosplay. It’s not necessarily an apt comparison.

To be honest, this one’s not very good, as the anthro’ piece looks very tame, and all, and honestly there’s nothing wrong with it, it’s even kinda nice.
 
(Though, some oddly get disturbed by any anthro’ pony piece no matter how tame, or cartoonish it is. A bit ironic, considering even the actual quadruped ponies in the show have some anthro’ features, and resemble a real horse about as much as Sonic resembles a real hedgehog.)  
Might’ve worked a few years ago, back when the brony fandom used to hate on Pony anthro’ art.
