Trixie: Why do YOU of all ponies want to—
Pinkie: It’s worth twice as much! And don’t forget to separately sell everything inside it too!
I give that leeway due to being a Simpsons quote.
True, however she was boring as one.
but sunset’s not a horse so she don’t count.
the issue is more about the second panel, rather than the first. OP implies that Starlight never got better as a character and she never worked on her issues.
Rather than disagreeing with OP, I would rather point out that the MANE 6 never really ironed out their kinks either, and that the ONE major character that have pretty much worked out 99% of their issue so would be Sunset Shimmer. And that’s kind of why Sunset is super popular, apparently.
I’m just curious. By which standard is OP comparing Starlight to? Because by Mane 6’s standard, Starlight’s doing really well.
Barrel open.
I mean, if the mane6 have completely worked on their flaws the show would end.
Starlight being short-sighted is like Fluttershy being shy to a fault, Pinkie being hyperactive, Rainbow being competitive, Applejack being stubborn, Rarity being vain, and Twilight being a know-it-all.
If anything Starlight’s actually overcome her biggest issue: namely over-reliance on Magic.
Look, Starlight managed to not magic her way out of…literally everything in Season 8. The one time she fired magic was at Discord. One time. That was it.
So yeah. She’s worked on her flaws as much as the mane6 has worked on theirs.
Want to know who has worked on ALL of her flaws and now writers need to come up with flaws to make her seem less perfect?
SUNSET. SHIMMER
That’s true too. Like what sTs said, earplugs. And like I said, there was a lot of ways around their troubles but neither took it
Trading the wagon wouldn’t have solved the problems they were having that kept them up in bed, though.
Edited
Harry Potter: Hermione’s handbag, with magic like that, it could’ve been very useful!
That also could’ve been avoided had Trixie just discussed the budget beforehand.
@sTs
Very true. That would’ve helped. And the comfyness of the wagon could’ve been remedied with either traveling light, or Starlight could’ve just did what Merlin did in Sword in the Stone and shrunk everything and put it in a box or something. She could’ve also put it outside for the night and put a protection spell on it (of all times to use magic to solve a problem this is one of them). And Trixie could’ve put what she didn’t need for the trip in Starlight’s room. She wouldn’t mind, she’s not using it.
There was like a million ways around each bump in the road ()no pun intended) and neither of them took it
@MegaAnimationFan
You know, the one (or two) thing(s) that would solve the episode’s problem (like with princess spike)?
inhaleEARPLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Not to mention the fact everyone is ignoring the bone headed move of Trixie making her and glimmer stand in a huge line for food because it was her favorite brand thus causing them to miss the last hotel spots.
Ugh, you sound just like DWK. Which normally wouldn’t be a bad thing, but here it is. Here’s my rebuttal:
-The money thing was Trixie’s fault. She should’ve TOLD Starlight about the budget thing BEFORE they even left. But she didn’t. Hell, that alone would’ve prevented literally everything that went wrong from happening.
-Yeah Starlight is the first to insult Trixie, but Trixie continues to bitch about her snoring like she got zero sleep from it but she GAGGED Starlight and kept Starlight up with her talking in her sleep. She got more sleep than Starlight yet she’s acting like she didn’t.
-Again, lack of sleep. She wasn’t doing it on purpose
-Are you daft? did you even watch the episode? She literally said she did that so they both enjoy, there’s the lack of sleep, and trading it wasn’t even her idea. She didn’t even know the dude wanted to trade it. He obviously convinced the sleep deprived and stressed Starlight to do it behind Trixie’s back even though she said no an why she didn’t want to, and even refused to trade it back for some reason (seriously that’s pretty shady. Why aren’t people seeing that)
One of your favorite characters? That’d be funny is it wasn’t a blatant lie. If she truly was, than why are you pinning everything wrong that happened on her despite the fact that not only has she never done this before, but was the only one making an effort to make the trip as comfortable as possible? I’m not saying she wasn’t wrong, but she’s not to blame for the trip being ruined and there was a reason for everything she was doing. And Trixe sure as hell ain’t the victim here. Like I’ve said this whole thing is her fault to begin with. Had she have not gone right then and there, or, oh I don’t know, PREPARED better none of this would have happened
But despite my long, tiring rebuttal, you still disagree don’t you?
I mean that’s not exactly true. Starlight is one of my favorite characters in the show, but she was in the wrong a lot in this episode. Several reviewers have touched on this already, but I’ll sum up a few things with the following points:
So really Trixie did nothing wrong in this episode. She had every reason to get angry at Starlight. Regardless of the circumstances, Starlight can’t be angry at Trixie when she already knew what she was getting into and was responsible for their money problems.
I know this is a meme and a Simpsons reference, but this is obviously done to vent out some frustration on Starlight not just in this episode but in general.
Oh snippy, I too tired.
