I recently started a new play through with Fallout 4, for all of its bugs, it’s still a fun game, I also went through the Mechanist DLC, the last part of the quest always seems to get stuck for me, leaving me unable to initiate the final dialog to finally end the quest, at this point I’m used to using console commands to complete the quest.
One of the mods that I’ve been meaning to use is a mod to increase/uncap the companion limit, but the AI and pathfinding is so damn annoying that I may just stick to using Piper and using a mod to let me keep Dogmeat also.
But already I’m sick of Dogmeat jumping in the path of fire between me and a bad guy, or sitting on his butt Exactly where I’m trying to build something…
I’m actually tempted to go full out lone wanderer. :p
Or they could at least perfect the largely flawed engine that they’ve stuck to, right? I mean, I get it; it’s the engine that they’re most familiar with and they can work with it faster to produce a product, but there’s still all of the following to think about:
Long story short, I completely agree with you. Bethesda needs to get their shit together. I love the Fallout series quite a lot, but to call the games perfect would be a through-the-teeth lie.
People have pointed out that they should have done a “early release” and avoid launching it in a “finished” state until a majority of the bugs were resolved. It probably wouldn’t have attracted as much negative attention otherwise.
My problem with Bethesda is the size of their ego, they have been riding the same damned game engine for years now like it’s the best thing ever.
I’d like to think they have the financial resources now to invest in a new modern game engine.
Oh yeah, the game should not have launched in the state it was in. That said, people are still memeing about it like it’s the worst thing ever, and it’s tiresome. The game’s actually pretty fun now, and the story is interesting.
Bethesda’s bugs and quirkiness are okay and sometimes fun in single player games, trying to take their existing buggy single player engine and turn it into a multi-player game is just asking for trouble, especially when you are Bethesda and launch the game like there’s nothing wrong with it and it’s suddenly a finished product…
@Meanlucario
Fallout 1 and 2 are completely different games on totally different levels, if you don’t enjoy a top down 2D isometric turn based RPG made in the late 90’s, sure.
Right now I’m having a blast going through Fallout 4 again and checking out some of my favorite mods that recently got some updates. My mod list is like 80 mods long, I’ve got stuff like alternate start mods that let me skip past some of the story elements and let me pretend I’m a generic wastelander and not some thawed out vault dweller. The weapon mods are the funnest out of any of the Fallout games so far I’ve got realistic AR15 mods installed and a mod that adds guns from the Borderlands games.
Still more enjoyable than Fallout 1.
@Joseph Raszagal
I mean, those have been in all Bethesda games, so calling out F76 for it seems rather silly.
[magic abuse](/tags/magic+abuse)
Or despawning loot and enemy models that appear upside down, swimming on land?
Will there be Glitching Deathclaws and Very terrible Game Mechanics in this FOE 76.
ZING!
Could it please feature a pone in powered armor who gets to experience their armor magically vanish, leaving them naked, at a incredibly awkward moment? :D

I’m working on an idea based on exactly that. Will be quite a while before I have anything ready to post though.
Oh that’s right, they were called Stables. I temporarily forgot what word Fallout Equestria replaced “vaults” with.

Someone doesn’t like the classics.
“But- but- but I wanna sleep!”
