Back in the present, Twilight, now older and around the size of Celestia, turns her attention back to her student, Luster Dawn before wiping away her tears.
Twilight: I guess he had the last laugh after all.
Luster Dawn: I’m assuming his girlfriend bought it too?
Twilight: We never found her body, but I doubt she’d be starting trouble now.

“He-hahahahahaha! Ha-hahahahaha!” Pipsqueak laughs after shooting the Joker. Twilight bursts into the room, finding the Joker dead and Pip still laughing. Pipsqueak continues laughing but slowly begins to break down in tears and drops the gun. Twilight approaches Pip and embraces him, “It’s okay, Pip. It’s okay…” She comforts him as Luna silently approaches them, the Nightmare over.  
We buried the Joker deep beneath Arkham. The only other person who knew what happened that night was Princess Celestia, Luna’s sister and my teacher. She promised to keep our secret. With his last act of cruelty, the Joker had tainted us all with compromise and deception.
