“I’m with Lightning Dust”
“I’m with Gallus.”
“I’m with Discord.”
“I’m with Chrysalis.”
“I’m with Pinkie.”
“I’m with stupid ->”
“They’re all screwed when Flurry Heart gets back.”
We were already done.
oh sure, I agree about the “importance” side of things. Wonderbolts are more powerful. but that doesn’t mean I would choose to be a bigger fan of them!
@Derpy Whooves
It is the 3rd time a mod has said this. So I made a forum post here I hope it helps <3
@darknessRising24
Both of you - Chill.
This personal feud between you is becoming a problem - please stop. Artists don’t make images so that you can fight with each other about your own personal interpretations of the show. Please create a forum thread for these debates - or use PMs.
There’s a difference between friendly competition and comparing one’s significance to the other. I’m simply pointing out that the Wonderbolts as a whole are much more important to Equestria than a group of dropouts.
All jokes aside I’ll see you in Season 9, Dash. The Washouts will have a show you won’t soon forget
@genervt
seriously yeah, what’s wrong with a friendly competition? nothing….
It is a competition, not a war.
They are not outmatched.
I also wasn´t talking to you.
You don´t tell me what to do, thank you very much.
Three Vs over a hundred members….
They lose. Hands down.
They’re both outnumbered and outmatched.
Also, didn’t you say that you were done here? Get lost.
Edited
This.
What matters is how many fans and how much audience the Washouts have and how popular and successful they are.
And as they have already lots of fans all over Equestria they are indeed already a match for the Wonderbolts.
Very impressive for only three “dropouts”.
Tell me that again when the Washouts have more members and Decades of History defending Equestria under their belt.
“lying to yourself about their importance”
well, that’s interesting. Twilight Sparkle was the one who had a Washouts poster. seems like you are angry about nothing, really.
Exactly.

Reminds me also of the battle of Cynocephalae. The Macedonian phalanx was, individually and as a combined unit, superior in battle to the Roman manipular legion. The Romans were no slouches at fighting, but one on one or unit on unit, even the Romans admitted the Greeks were better. At Cynocephalae the Macedonians even had a slight numerical advantage. Rome won. Luck was involved (the supporting Macedonian cavalry made a mistake that left them unable to defend the left flank of the second phalanx in time), but it was the normal outcome of Greek vs. Roman combat and ultimately Rome defeated Macedonia, so it was by no means a fluke.
Though there were a number of contributing factors besides luck, the truth is that “the better warriors” only win when they fight the better war. A look at their gear is instructive. The Macedonians wore two-piece bronze cuirasses and carried bronze-over-wood shields held with the arm horizontal to allow greater movement of the shield to block or even strike. The Romans, Hollywood preference for the segmented lorica aside, generally wore chainmail pull-overs, and carried rectangular cloth/paint/glue and wooden shields with the arm straight down. Chainmail is self-polishing as the rings move so little extra work is required to keep it from rusting through, it can be put on in moments by the soldier himself, can be repaired with a pair of pliers (link in new ring, squeeze ring, insert rivet, squeeze rivet), and the shield basically hangs effortlessly in their hand. The Macedonians carried a 6 meter long spear (sarissa), a few javelins, and a short sword (xiphos). The Romans carried a a few javelin-like short spears (pilae), a short sword (gladius), and a dagger (pugio). The Macedonians had to polish their armor regularly, carry around a massive spear, and carry their heavier shields with muscle. The Phalanx was also a very tight formation that had to move in unison and had little room to adjust posture; there was a man against each of your shoulders and another man’s shield pressed into your back to support you. It was a nearly impenetrable formation as long as it held. But the phalanx was, pun not intended, a one-trick pony. Philip of Macedonia had one phalanx ready in case they ran into the Romans unexpectedly, while the second was out of their gear foraging for food. The Romans did the same. When their scouts found each other, the second phalanx took a long time to break camp and form up into such a tightly organized formation, whereas the entire Roman legion was ready not long after their first group met the first phalanx. The first Macedonian phalanx managed to hold off the entire Roman legion, which was soon twice their size. When the second phalanx arrived and the Romans had to split their legion in two, in both cases the phalanxes spent most of the battle winning. But they arrived tired, tired faster, and got more tired out using their superior fighting skills against the legion’s least trained/least valuable newbies (who made up the front rows of the legion). Eventually in their exhaustion they made mistakes, which the relatively more rested Romans (who in addition to having equipment designed to be less work rather than better for fighting, kept their most experienced troops armed, but literally resting , in the back rows) were quickly able to exploit. When the exhausted Macedonian cavalry mistakenly chased the Roman cavalry, it exposed the left side of the second phalanx. One well-rested maniple, about 60-100 of the most experienced Roman veterans, managed to get around the back of the second phalanx and drive right through them from the back to the front. Which allowed the Roman front lines and second lines to drive into the hole and start slaughtering them from the middle out towards the sides too. They were quickly routed, at which point the entire Roman second legion regrouped and hit the exhausted first phalanx from behind.
Even if they were equal in size (which they’re not), are the Wonderbolts or the Washouts more likely to do high-energy “tricks” and wear themselves out first? Especially considering the Wonderbolts have a lot more members and a huge reserve and cadet corps they can rotate in and out. And they train to work in unison and support each other’s efforts, instead of scrambling to each do their own thing. The Washouts would pull off some amazing (but strategically unimportant) victories quickly, while the Wonderbolts would absorb the losses until the time was right, and just slaughter them afterwards.
Plus I’m pretty sure the Wonderbolts have never exploited a small filly’s deep rooted insecurities to coerce her into an untested and almost certainly life threatening stunt, so there’s that was well.
Take too many, or the wrong ones, or take them because they’re more alluring (easier, faster, potentially greater payoff) rather than because they’re the best odds, you lose. That’s three ways to lose vs. one.
For a while the Washouts have everything their own way, stretching out in every direction like an octopus spreading its tentacles. But it’ll last for a year and a half at the most.
Then they will fear all they will have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill her with a terrible resolve.
Wonderbolts win in the end.
Agree
Good, now get lost and stop trying to provoke me.
I´m done with you.
You done making an ass out of yourself?
