I just think the entire situation was different. Twi wasn’t Starlight’s headmare. She was her personal mentor and friend, and Starlight saved her and her friends from Changeling captivity on top of helping to turn the Changeling race good and gain Equestria a new ally. Managing to work with a group of misfits who all traveled into the heart of an enemy kingdom to save the day.

I think it took them till the end of the first day to figure out what was happening. It took the second day just to get to Tartarus and then they ended up trapped for most of the third day.

No, watch the finale. It was the third day and the sun was setting they had minutes remaining before all of magic was gone forever with no way to get it back. And magic is such a huge part of equestria’s society.

And I think the Starlight situation was also a whole hodgepodge of different emotions for her. She seemed to have more of an emotional connection to Starlight than to the school students (which makes sense, Starlight is only one mare and they lived together), Discord was in her head making her doubt herself, Starlight had just saved her directly from being trapped forever (while the Student 6 did save the day, their contribution wasn’t quite as intimate)
