Stop adding the op has a point tag. Starlight didn’t graduate because she saved Equestria, she graduated because she had already learned everything that Twilight had planned to teach her. The young 6 saved Equestria but have yet to learn everything that they will be taught at school and as such are not ready to graduate. The two situations are completely different and the only similarity between them is that both Starlight and the young 6 saved Equestria. OP does not have a point.

This assumes that both earth ponies and Pegasi had their magic taken by Cozy’s spell, but not only could Pegasi still fly at the end of the three days, neither earth ponies or Pegasi were shown getting their magic returned to them(except for Pinkie). It really raises questions about what magic was taken, what wasn’t, and why the writers said it was “all magic in Equestria” when it demonstrably wasn’t.
 
Bottom line, we have no idea just how fucked or not Equestria would have been if the magic was sent elsewhere, because the episode is too inconsistent with what it says, and what it shows.

Anyway OP, I think you’re making a false equivalency there, as Twilight et al saved Equestria five fucking times in the first four seasons alone, yet were still “learning about friendship.” “B-but that just means that Starlight is a Mary Sue™!” No, it means that she still has shit to learn in spite of saving the world, just like Twilight et al, and just like the student six.
