I don’t even ship the two. I just find it odd that their friendship is so poorly defined compared to the other characters.

It’s a shame. Probably the least of any two of the six.

But they are rather good for each other. Their lifestyles are very compatible, and AJ is altogether more respectful and sensitive toward Fluttershy, whilst stil encouraging her to do better, ie like in Dragonshy (particularly a lot better to Flutters than Dash usually is).
