you might wanna focus less on the empty feeling the end of the game gives you, and more on the empty feeling your boyfriend basically just dumping you back there gives you.
 
it’s funny though, spectator sports work because they give us the illusion that the stars are on our team. we’re part of a cause that our heroes are fighting for, and whether they win or lose, they fight an amazing fight. the illusion falls apart when the game’s over, and our heroes just kind of head off and disappear, because they don’t even know we exist. so I think fans like her don’t so much need a chance to be a star. they need someone to admire, who gives a fuck about them. you want to be part of the lives of your heroes, and feel like you’re important to them in your own way, but few people really want to be heroes. way too much thankless effort, and sheer luck involved.
 
that’s kind of why I like fan created content more than any of that canon garbage. because lytlethelemur has a chance to read what I wrote, and maybe find some inspiration in it. I’m still a lot more isolated and alone than the friends they actually play with, but it’s a closer relationship than trying to be buddy buddy with tara strong, lost in the millions of other fans trying to do the same. being this artist though? I haven’t drawn anything in over a week, and when I try, the limits of my creativity seem to be “horse look at box shape thing.” a flying sports pub that floats over different sports games with the slogan “we’re on it” is something I’d never come up with in a million years.
