Speaking of which, I agreed that Mayor Mare was caged by a villain not only once but twice two times in a row. First Trixie and now the Storm King. I agreed that Mayor Mare was imprisoned in one of the Storm King’s cages in Ponyville because we see smoke hissing above Ponyville when some of the airships were heading straight towards Canterlot while some are circling around Equestria after the song, “Open Up Your Eyes”. And I also agreed that the Storm King and his Storm Troops imprisoned various ponies including The Cutie Mark Crusaders, Clear Skies and Songbird Serenade in cages as prisoners of the Storm King during his conquering/ruling/take over of Equestria.

Although in Twilight case, you could walk though the bars of those thigns. the gaps are huge.

 
The artists really like the birdcage motif when it comes to villains imprisoning ponies.
