D O N ’ T D R O P T H E S O A P .”
I have a few fic ideas but im a lazy asshole.
I’ve actually had a half-assed fic idea about that kicking around in my head since way back in 2011.
To which brings me bout my minor annoyance bout the lack of dragon knowledge,but thats a subject for another day.
Or it’s like sending a trio of pegasi to fight a dragon.
Well its like sending a mosquito to fight a dragon.
Actually they are part of the military and attacked the grown Spike and Tirek.
Not very successful in both cases.
granted their athletes not warriors though Dash is both.
And you are missing mine, but we can agree to disagree.
Your still missing my point, but I’m tired of wasting my time here. This argument is clearly pointless and will get nowhere. I’ll leave this at an agree to disagree.
This will be forever one of their proudest moments.
granted their not much of a miltary,but yea.
Violating military airspace does matter.
@Background Pony #087D
See my previous comments, too.
Did the writers actually bother keeping track of their own rules, or do they only exist moment-to-moment as needed for the plot?
The answer is hell no and yup.
No, the balloon and the tornado were on academy area.
And I never said that the tornado was a good idea.
It still would not have endangered the Mane 6 if they hadn´t violated military airspace.
Doing that without permission is a really bad idea and can get you in a lot of trouble (except if you are friends with Princess Celestia).
That’s neither here nor there. The point was that no matter how you look at it, inncoent ponies were in danger. Assuming what you said is correct and they weren’t allowed on grounds, then the tornado went off grounds. That’s showing for how stupid and reckless of an idea that was.
either way, it still endangered innocent ponies. You keep trying to skirt around this. Doesn’t matter whether or not they knew the mane six was there. Doesn’t matter whether or not spitfire told them the balloon was there. Either they were allowed on base, or the tornado went off base. Pick your poison, either way the tornado endangered inncoent ponies. I hate repeating myself too.
Training is training.
Even you should know that.
And I´m getting tired of repeating myself again and again.
That the Mane 6 weren´t stopped is certainly not Dustys fault.
The punishment was cruel and anything but graceful, especially since the incident was an unfortunate accident and the first offence of an inexperienced but promising and gifted cadet.
There were many less severe possibilities for a punishment that would have allowed Dusty to make up for her mistake and redeem herself (like in the original ending).
An expulsion is not the first but the last resort.
@Jarkes
Indeed.
What Spitfire should have done is to make her Dashies wingpony and give her additional training so that she can learn from her and have a positive influence.
Sadly that did not happen.
@cloudkicker108
Finally something we can agree on.
Interesting you bring that episode up. It’s actually my favorite episode of season 6 because of all the nuance; no one was completely in the right or completely in the wrong.
Yeah, a lot like No Second Prances, which is another episode that’s really divisive.
Except Scoots. She’s innocent. INNOCENT, I TELL YOU!
Wonderbolt training is very different from cadet training. Even you should know that.
And we’ve already proven to you why that one line–which specifically refers to Wonderbolt training exercises–doesn’t imply restricted airspace. Not only were the mane six not stopped at any point in “Wonderbolts Academy”, but someone as knowledgeable as Twilight would certainly know whether or not they could actually go to the academy and see their friend.
Although punishing her outside was not the best choice, Spitfire’s demeanor towards LD was anything but cruel; she was frankly pretty graceful on her part, given how the cadet almost killed five ponies moments earlier.
@Jarkes
My point exactly. While Spitfire definitely made mistakes on her part and further exacerbated the problem, the problem itself still stems from within Lightning Dust. None of the parties involved are completely innocent or guilty.

Honestly, both parties are at fault here: Spitfire for enabling it, and Lightning for getting worse and worse.
