My god…all this crying about her being “dead”… You know that blurb about them removing her from the show completely was fake, right? About as fake as this gif.
 
They already have and continue to make money off the character. The SDCC Derpy sold out within hours, and there’s that Funko Derpy they sell at Hot Topic, not to mention all the shirts they make. They gave her a fairly significant cameo in the first issue of the comic, and even gave her her own covers.
 
Derpy isn’t “dead”, nor will she be. She now means reliable money to Hasbro, so I doubt she’s ever going to be removed or phased out.
