If we had another word that meant what literally used to mean, I'’d let this one go and just migrate to "“non-figuratively"” or whatever the replacement was. But we don'’t, so I'’m going to have to pick a few more fights with this windmill until it'’s out of my system. If a word can be its own opposite, it has literally (in whichever sense you please) lost its meaning.
Also, just to be an annoying nitpick, the-~~literal-~~ non-figurative definition of "“asshole"” would not be "“rowdy posterior"” so much as [spoiler]||“anus”.[/spoil|| I’d elabor]ate, but Cconsidering how your last post ended, I'’m guessing you'’ve at least seen a picture of one already. :P
