Most big companies hire artists that drew smut at some point, heck great artists like Joe Shuster (creator of Superman), Steve Ditko (creator of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange) used to be porn artists and currently, DC has two former porn artists working for them: Otto Schmidt for Green Arrow and Stepan (Nebezial/Shiniez) Sejic for Aquaman. MARVEL at some time hired Colleen Coover for The Sentry.

I wouldn’t want two different adventures with the gals back to back in the show and comics. Six months or so is a nice gap.
So you were given the okay to give him wings? I figured details like that had to be planned in advance.
Hell, we’re over the halfway point in season 8 and we still haven’t seen any plots involving the Friendship School. I know there’s one coming up, but that’s still months away.
When you consider who is the artist of this issue, you can expect Spike to have wings there. ;)
