Jim Miller in his twitter acount said that he consider Spike to be 10-12 in dragon years but 16-22 in pony year. He also said that none of the characters age have been set and can be what we decide. And just because someone sound or look like a kid doesn’t mean they are. Like Yugi Moto from Yu-Gi-Oh who despite his size and look is a high school student.

Your comment is confusing. The artist here said that Thorax and Ember would not be able to have children. I been arguing the opposite that Thorax and Ember would be able to have children. They’ll have Kirin in the show but we don’t know if they’ll be a hybrid or their own race. The griffon, the hippogriff, and the minotaur seem to be their own race and not a hybrid. There are many people who said Spike and Rarity wouldn’t be able to have children. I have been arguing against this as well. That point I’m trying to make here is that with magic biological limits become meaningless.

Well sorry, I dont know, but the show mentioned that there are part ponies, which we can assume that there are half dragon/pony hybrids. And the artist assume that since there can be half dragon-pony offspring, then there can be changeling/dragon hybrids. I assume that in most headcanons and fan-factions they mentioned that dragons are able to breed with any sentient species in Equestria and produce a half-dragon offspring.

Well Spike sounds and looks like a kid, and with the main cast, it assumes that the main 6 are around their early twenties due to the fact that they live by themselves.

I understand that. It just I didn’t like it when the artist use will like it would come true. Sorry, I guess I can be defensive at time. It like with my headcannon I like to think Spike’s age is around sixteen or so. It just fan theory but than you get these guys that scream Spike is a kid and so every story should have him being eight years old. A funny thing is some people like to think Rarity is twenty-five or something.

I have no problem with this being the artist headcannon. He have his opinion and I have mine. I actually like the Thorax-Ember shipping. What I don’t like is when someone take their fan theory and present it as fact. That how I feel for any shipping. It fun to discuss who can be pair with who but the fun is taking away when someone tried to present it as canon. And in my opinion, biology shouldn’t really affect changeling breed with other races.

That last one is surprising.

True, dragons and other creatures have been able to have hybrid children in mythology, even in cases where it wouldn’t make sense.
 
But this is this particular artist’s art, headcanon, and ship, so they should be able to do whatever they want with it.

a qilin or kirin was originally depict as a horse/dragon hybrid but overtime it has been depict in various form; unicorn, deer, or goat. It sometime have antler or a single horn. Plus a longma is a winged horse/dragon hybrid.

In mythology there are various story of one species turning into another then having children. Like the kitsune(fox) or the selkie(seal) transform into a female human and having children with a male human. In Chinese mythology the Dragon King have nine sons that are hybrid; Qiu Niu(cow/dragon), Ya Zi(wolf/dragon), Chao Feng(goat/dragon), Pu Lao(dog/dragon), Saun Ni(lion/dragon), Bi Xi(turtle/dragon), Bi An(tiger/dragon), Fu Xi(snake/dragon), and Chi Wen(fish/dragon). What restrict us in the scientific world lose importance when it come to magic.
