I said that the PoS stated that Twilight is almost as powerful as Star Swirl earlier, but it feels like I’m being ignored?

Anyway, to chime in on Celestia and Luna, I doubt either of them know much about cutie mark magic, and knowing it’ll wear off in 24 hours, why bother at the time, especially with a mutually different set of magic talents granted for the both of them?
 
(Point is, it doesn’t necessarily have much to do with power so much as a lack of knowledge in that regard, and as for Celestia, she can do something that drained multiple unicorns and also required Star Swirl (who again, Twilight is almost that powerful, and probably Starlight by extension), all on her own)

But Celestia has overpowered a spell’s intended effects before. She stopped the Want-It-Need-It spell that Twilight had cast on the doll. And Luna could have helped to switch back their marks, so that would have been the power of two alicorns.

Now that you mention that, it was because the spell had a duration of 24 hours. That means that they couldn’t switch their CM back until the spell was gone.

I’m saying that no one knew about the situation about Starlight’s Village at the time. Only the Mane 6 knew what was going on and they were taken by surprise.

But the Princesses? She only switched them. They still had their strength, albeit switched magic that they were using quite fine. So why couldn’t they switch their own marks back?

The Mane 6 couldn’t switch back their CM because they didn’t have the enough magic to do that.
 
And Starlight beating Twilight on that season finale was because Starlight had the power to change anything in the timeline whenever she wanted, also she knew how Twilight was going to attack her.

Albeit this involves going into headcanon a bit, but I see Starlight as being much less restrained of a spellcaster when she fights, and whether she’s a bit behind or not is irrelevant with that in mind. Twilight may have held back on the Roc and the Bugbear, out of a desire to simply make them give up, but Starlight will have none of that and doesn’t pull her punches. (Or you could say the Bugbear was conjured by Discord, like the flying pigs and the unusually small Ursa Major)
 
The Pony of Shadows did say Twilight is almost as strong as Star Swirl (a very powerful unicorn, albeit very experienced, against a young alicorn), and it looks like Starlight couldn’t have won that duel without Twilight helping, and obviously vice-versa, since she stepped in to help her win.

Starlight overpowers the Princesses magic. She switched their cutie marks and they were unable to switch them back until their friendship problem was solved.
 
Starlight was beating Twilight in the season 5 finale, and Twilight had to switch to a peaceful tactic because she couldn’t beat her. The show itself showed that Starlight was stronger than Twilight, and made that a key point to her “defeat”.

Starlight has been saying during the show the time she took to study her magic and based on this image it’s clear why she has strong magic…

I don’t think you can count the princesses in the ‘powerful’ category cannon wise. They’ve been portrayed as powerless to do anything but get their asses handed to them any time something happens.
 
Though I love them, and I really do… In show and movie they’re nothing but a perfect example of the ‘Authority Is Useless’ trope.

Starlight dramatists excel in making mountains out of molehills, & they’re perfect examples of the fact that exceptional skill inspires jealousy in others.

Think of it like this: If Starlight is OP, then so is Cadence, Twilight, Sunset, Starswirl, Sombra, Chrysalis, Dragon Lords, Thorax, Luna, Celestia, Tirek, Smooze, Discord and of course, BABY FLURRY.
 
That’s not counting Pinkie’s 4th wall powers and Maud’s ridiculous strength and Rainbow Dash’s top speed.
