Elements of Harmony doesn’t necessarily mean Elements of Kindness.
Actually, given how the Elements act, they seem to honestly pick the punishment to fit the crime. Nightmare Moon was banished to the moon, which was tied to her. Discord was turned to stone, immortal and unchanging which is the opposite of himself. As well as destroying or overpowering dark elements. Not to mention that the Tree of Harmony basically ‘killed’ the main six clones so it’s not above destroying evil.
These are the elements of harmon, not the Rainbow of light. They will at worst turn him to stone.
If this was the Rainbow of light…. yeah, he would be dead.
