SO I don’t know if you’ve paid attention to what happened at SDCC, but come Season 2, we’re getting Dijon. and believe you me when I say that that he’s only like the 4th or 5th most interesting new/rebooted character.
I found a tweet on the know Your Meme page for the documentary which was responding to The Simpson’s episodes responding to the documentary.
in the episode they bring up some old stories that could be seen as racist and offensive by today’s standards.
In the tweet the person says that people were offended back then but didn’t have a voice and the thing is if they have a voice now let them use it and don’t get offended on their behalf
That also is a little thing to consider that MLP is mostly limited to Canadian actors
Well, Tara Strong is Jewish, so it depends on your definition of “white.”
I remember back when some used to think Zecora was a “racist African stereotype caricature,” despite being portrayed as one of the wisest/nicest recurring ancillary characters in the show.
Also, isn’t it kinda racist to say an “African” character can’t wear African jewelry, or have an African accent?
Basically those people don’t need the people to speak for them.
Also here is something stupid somebody recently posted a picture to this site saying that MLP wasn’t accepting to not white actors and the only evidence provided was that the main and recurring characters played by mostly white actors.
Which is enough to raise suspicion I will admit but not enough to flat out say that is not accepting the op even said that the cast was whitewashed
What?
@northern haste
True, it’s odd they claim they’re not racist, yet they seem very fixated on race, especially other people’s.
Like that crazy “You’re a white male!” white guy. (It’s ironic most hatred/racism against white people are from other whiteys.)
Also, many “minorities” say it makes them uncomfortable when white people kiss up to them, just ‘cause they think their race is “cool.” People don’t want to be hated for their race, but they also don’t want to be liked only for it either. I don’t want people kissing up to me, because I’m part Indian, and such.

something I noticed it seems like sjws mostly care more about an actor’s race then their skills as an actor
Weird. People throw around words like that so much, it’s like crying wolf.
At one point I got called a race basher for saying that did a session of casting an actor should be based on their skills as an actor and if they fit the role not the race unless race is actually important to the character
Yeah, they make fun of white people, and everbody in the Simpsons.
I agree, Dijorn just wouldn’t work regardless how he’s handled. I hear that Fenton Crackshell (Gizmoduck) is actually Hispanic in the new show, (hence his more tan feather color) to match his voice actor, (who does a great job sounding a li’l like the original character actually) but it’s surprisingly subtle, and it’s never been brought up, aside from his full name now being “Fenton Crackshell Cabrera.”
Makes me curious how they’ll portray his soap-opra-obsessed Ma’.
And I also agree, while I dislike the SJW P.C. police, the anti-SJW police can get annoying too, and are starting to become the opposite extreme. One even accused me of being an SJW/white-knight, which is ironic, because I’ve been very outspoken against them for years.
Edited
that’s another thing I think the Simpsons made more fun of Christianity than any other religion and of course the fat jokes which is an American stereotype.
anyway going slightly back On Topic to DuckTales unfortunately I think that Disney is a no win situation with Dijorn if they keep them the way she was they will probably be called racist but if they make him a bit more of a confident character they will probably be called sjw again I’ve already seen the show be called feminist propaganda because of webby and Mrs beakley. anti sjws are just as annoying as sjw if not more at least sjws have a good cause
The British stereotypes are almost a compliment, compared to others they’ve done.
In fact, christians actually find Ned Flanders funny, despite him nowadays being basically a christian-stereotype, so I don’t know why Apu is now so controversial.
I’m pretty sure if apu really was offensive he would have been criticised years ago I don’t recall brazil waiting years to complain.
to be honest I do remember being annoyed maybe even offended at the shows British stereotypes but that was back when I was a dumb little kid
Yeah, plus compared to the other “stereotypical” characters on the show, Apu is one of the nicer, and friendlier characters.
Characters like the “Rich Texan,” Scottish Groundskeeper Willie, and such have practically no positive traits, and nobody minds them.
I really don’t get the problem with Apu he’s been like that for roughly 28 years they’re a bit late to complain
Doubtful, but it’d be cool. Dijorn is so funny
It’d be interesting if they brought him back in a multi-part episode/TV movie, and had Christopher Lloyd do his voice again, (he does still do some voicework) or have somebody else somewhat famous do it.
Doubt they’ll bring back Dijorn, (“Problem with Apu,” and similar controversies come to mind) but frankly he was kinda a lame character anyways.
I see
In the scene shown in the image, she pulls out what looks like the book, but is actually just a cover to hide a green spellbook called Grimoire du Merlock.
I must have missed that what was it
