love is universally the best way to turn enemies to friends or even lovers… after all love is the most powerful force in the universe… and for a being dependant on love for survival i would think the first sign of somepony willingly loving HER would make her instinct kick in to jump on that opportunity… and i think if somepony treats her well enough she might even bring herself to return those feelings

I know the comics made some kind of backstory for her, but I think there would need to be some kind of flashback, exposition or recap in-show in order to see why… and only then can they drawn on that to reform her.
