I’m no Psychologist, but innit dissociative personality disorder, rather than disassociation? (hairceptionception!)
Uncanny valley is meant to apply to robots, and thus it’s usage anywhere else would be incorrect.
The reason MPD became DID is because it isn’t a personality disorder, but a Dissociative disorder.
My comparison is valid if you think of UCV being applied to non-robots equates to a Dissociative disorder being labeled as a Personality disorder.
I’m just saying it’s not as wrong as the use of “uncanny valley” with things other then robotics.
In that case why compare that to uncanny valley, it’s not the same if one was an old name for something(even if wrong) from a term used something being applied to other things.
Actually multiple personality disorder is the old name for dissociative identity disorder, not the same as with uncanny valley that was made as term for robotics.

The uncanny valley specifically relates to the dip in the graph of human interpretation of “human-like” robots. It can’t just be lobbed at anything that looks vaguely realistic.
It however does come from Freud’s concept of the “Uncanny”. But the “valley” part has a very specific usage.
How the heck would this even be grimdark?
