In terms of General level of advancement it goes GMOD, SFM, Blender.
 
In Gmod you get to play with the models like literal dolls, you pose them, sometime haphazardly, and make something or other but the artistic capability doesn’t come out of the box, you need to go out and search for addons to get that. Ultimately it’s rudimentary and simple, but can be modified to be more advanced to the users taste.
 
In SFM the program is actually designed for Animation and by extent any form of 3D artistic expression, disregarding the creation of custom assets. all of settings and abilities are based around creating or producing near studio quality art and animation, wherein at least a little production knowledge is required(knowing pose anatomy, composition, camera setting, production skills).
 
In Blender it is a know all, be all wherein’ the creator can draft, model, texture, animate and produce an entire model or set of models without ever really leaving the program. it also requires the most experience in various fields as well as patience and time consumption. Blender is generally the hardest to work with simply because of UI and the effort required to be put into each individual setting.
 
Now as for my personal opinion, Blender is the best option of the 3 as far as Animating and art design goes, because every single aspect of it can be broken down to a setting.

actually in one of my other pics applejack has the soul stone… dont ask how… she was visiting her great grandparents graves when it just… appeared… I know that’s not how it works but I wanted it to be diferent

Eh, I don’t think Tirek holds any love for Scorpan, as Tirek seemed to describe him as “worthless”.

Well, it would be very tricky for him to get the stones specially the soul one……  
Unless he sacrificed Scorpan or something

i guess its just easier to do… that and a lot more people have gmod and or sfm than they do blender… that and gmod is WAAAAY easier to pose than either blender or sfm

I’m curious. why do i never see blender models. are they harder to make or is it the pony community’s preference is mostly good/sfm?
