There’s AUs, breakups, and polyamory, of course, but not everyone is into those - and in the case of breakups, might even come across as a bit mean-spirited, to want two characters to lose their relationship in that way.

The curse of canonicity, I guess. I wouldn’t even want TwiDash to become canon (not that it would), just because I know it would suck for other shippers. I’d enjoy it, of course, but that would fade.
