Funny, a couple days ago I saw a random post that talked about that, and yes, people very much do get attached to their roombas, so much so that the company warranty allows for restoration of a roomba instead of just replacing it.

I’m pretty sure the answer to ‘has anybody in real life ever gotten attached to ___’ is almost always yes. (Heck, when I was younger, I had a day of mourning when my roommate accidentally ‘killed’ my Tamagotchi.)
