Magicians throughout the media arts ofter draw energy from the magic of earth, wind, fire, and water, and sometimes other sources outside of the four ancient elements. I’ve always thought the properties of psynergy in Golden Sun shared numerous similarities with the characteristics of magic in a majority of stories. :3
That could work on using electric eels and jellyfish.
But we need to think of this as not like a human way of think on how things work in our world when it comes to obtaining power like electricity. But in some other unforeseen way of energy. After all, this is a magical world where things are able to be achieved and succeed far beyond the power of electricity. But of some kind of special energy that can’t be contained but comes from within ones self being that they share amongst one another. An energy that cannot be explained but only to be accepted.
Hence why I think they used electric eels and jellyfish as a power source
Who knows but that is an interest thought.
But here’s another thought of a theory.
Lets say that the necklaces are constantly in use only when they are in their sea-form and only when they choose to turn it off to go back to their original form as the hippogriff before the storm king invaded their homeland. Which lead them to flee under the sea and create a new safe home.
So lets say that if it was to run out of power of some kind, that maybe it would just change them back into the hippogriff form and or cancel out of the transformation if it was in mid transformation.
But that’s just some theory’s of mine.
Unicorn horns can recharge via food source or being around areas with intense energy fields (e.g. sonic rainboom) and just like batteries, I’m pretty sure the fragments may need some sort of outside source to keep it running; as my physics and homeroom teacher once said:
TNSTAAFL
(There’s No Such Thing As A Free Lunch)
Think of it like this, does a unicorns horn run out of magic and or need to be recharged?
So perhaps the necklaces work the same way like the unicorns horn. But that’s just a theory of mine.
I’ve been wondering…
Do the hippogriffs have to charge their necklaces like a battery or else they wouldn’t switch between creature forms anymore?? Do jellyfish and electric eels count as a legitimate magical power source??
And if your necklace ran outta power in midst transformation, do they actually transform into literal flying fish??
