That could be. Or its foul tree resin.
But why they attack ponies and other creatures (Spike)? It seems that these encounters in the serie are not territorial disputes.
A little grimdark thesis from me.
Maybe they eat biological creatures and the foul breath comes from the rotten remains.
Fungus spores, maybe? Or, perhaps a plant that ponies can’t eat.
Are they complete elementary creature or part biological. I find it odd that they have foul breath. What could that be?
You know, come to think of it, maybe there was something about the rock that was poisonous to timber wolves, or that cancelled out timber wolf magic.
Probably, thinking of it. Something burning to death is a lot darker than a few comedic choking motions and falling apart into a pile of sticks.
Maybe they didn’t want to be morbid?
It was kind of anticlimactic. How does an animated pile of wooden debris choke to death, of all things? Does it even have lungs in the first place?
I mean, if they had just torched it or something to wrap the episode up quickly I’d have no issue, but this was just odd.
You’d think a creature made from plant matter would be able to handle stones.
It’s from the part at the end of “Spike at Your Service” where the timberwolf king has swallowed a stone and is about to choke to death.
