I think i have a theory about why
  1. Her friends were fake and used her so she was angry.
  2. This chicken wanted to help her to be new ruler.
  3. The princess celestia wanted fluttershy to leaving the ponyville but she and luna has turned into stone and fluttershy is new ruler.
      (Thats my theory!)

With both princesses celesta and Luna turned to stone could have cases the ruling was turned over to shining armor along with princess cadence along with flurry heart and twilight. With the cockatrice was the few that enjoys a tummy rub when those wonder if flutter-shy is being named princess.
