Sparity is the only one that really means anything to me. Those two are the only ones that have shown any interest in being in a relationship with ANYONE. The other 5 have shown no interest in anyone romantically at all.
 
Even at that, I still see it as a precocious crush thing that will forever be locked in a friend-zone during the show thanks to Spike being a baby dragon.
 
I’m just not a shipper. Doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy the fanwork that gets done based off it, or that I will bash people for doing it, I just don’t headcanon any of it. Scratch that, I WILL bash the “this ship is canon, it’s a fact” dopeheads.

I’d also like to add that I wasn’t really putting down rarijack. I was just using an example as to how it’s pointless to point out conflicts/rifts between characters in order to devalue a ship, when said conflict/rift is ultimately resolved.
 
And as Iristrismegistus sad. The strength in the mane six’s dynamic is how they can compliment or serve as positive foils to one another, no matter the specific pairing, hence, each of them has their specific merits.

What I said was that they do interact with one another in the show, and they do get along most of the time. Their major differences/annoyance with one another are barely present at this point as theey were in “swarm of the century” True its not focused on as much as it should be, but there is a subtle connection still there.
 
What I said about Rarity understanding Dash better than most people, based on their mutually large aspirations, isn’t speculation. It was pretty clear throughout the first and last act of Sonic Rainboom.
 
Dash caring more about how she looks and her overall delivery, than AJ is kind of a given, and Rarity has helped her in that respect in “find a Pet” AND the 2nd Season Finale personally when they went off together to fix her dress. That’s not speculation either, and it’s actually some nice common ground between her and Rarity for a change.
 
What you brought up about her being insensitive in “dressed for success”. Yeah…Dash IS insensitive to all of her friends…I can point out multiple times in which she’s been much more to Fluttershy and AJ. She’s not malicious though, and comes to the right decision in the end. Same with Rarity and her vanity (which Dash does share). It’s pointless to bring that up since they reconciled….Dash being the first to own up to her mistake and rightfully so.
 
You really are grasping at straw going after my point on the breakfast date, given…
 
A)If they were going to meet the others for breakfast it’s likely they would have came looking for them, or at least wondered where they are, after they left, following Spike
 
B) Otherwise them dropping their plans to have breakfast altogether if twilight didn’t join them two just seems…unreasonably silly…they don’t hate each other.
 
Lastly…Come on. Of course any of Rarity’s friends would have done the same if they could, and of course, Dash isn’t some monster who’d let anyone DIE.
 
But the fact of the matter is, the climax of Sonic Rainboom DOES still have strong romantic subtext, regardless.
 
She broke through her own anxiety and achieved her greatest feat through the sheer drive to save the life of someone she cared about (and yes I think it goes without saying that SHE DOES care about her), even when Rarity let her vanity cloud her judgement. Their moment of reconciliation afterward, and everything Rarity had done, to make sure they were all even present for Rainbow Dash’s show beforehand makes it all the more poignant.
 
There were other small things I can mention (Rare’s displayed knowledge of the wonder-bolts in “sweet and elite” clearing coming from conversations with Dash, her enjoyment of Dash’s flying performance in “read it and weep, her visiting dash in the hospital, and vice-versa when Rare went to canterlot, etc.)
 
But even if any bit of what I said WAS just speculation, it comes from genuine and fairly on-the-nose observations from the show and their personalities, proving that it isn’t really as implausible no Out of character as some would make it out to be.
 
My points still stand. Though, even if you hate raridash or not, I thank you for at least taking the time to respond.

I don’t think anyone ever said RD and Rarity hated each other, they’re all friends obviously. But it is true that they hardly ever hang out together and seem to have little to do with one another when not in a big group around Twilight, unlike Rarity and Applejack or Rarity and Fluttershy, or Dash with Applejack or Pinkie Pie. Most of what you said makes good ground for the ship is pure speculation, i.e. how you think they could work or why they might be attracted to each other as opposed to how they’ve been shown to actually interact together in the show. There’s nothing wrong with that if you like to ship it but you have to understand that’s only the way you personally imagine the characters, and it doesn’t hold water when you’re going to try to justify it in a canon sense.
 
The only couple of points you brought up that were canon are also sort of iffy. Dash may have been the first to apologize to Rarity in Suited for Success, but she was also the one who blurted out rude remarks both when Rarity revealed the original dresses and also when the other ponies were trying to comfort Rarity after her breakdown (basically she said Rarity IS a laughingstock). They never went out to have breakfast together in Dragon Quest, they asked Twilight if she wanted to join them for breakfast (maybe they wouldn’t have gone without her joining them or maybe they were supposed to meet all of the others together after picking up Twilight, nitpicky but my point is you’re interpreting that part only how you want to). Lastly Dash may have saved Rarity’s life before true, but I’m pretty positive any of them would do that for each other, and I’d be surprised if Dash wouldn’t even have saved someone like Trixie (pre-apology) because I doubt she’d be willing to let anypony die or get seriously hurt if she could help it. That point at least could make a good shipping starting point though if someone’s into it, I can give you that.
 
Also, just a small point about Rarity and AJ. The only time they really argued is when they were first getting to know one another in Look Before You Sleep, because they were judging each other at face value (the don’t judge a book by it’s cover moral). Everything ended up getting resolved in the one same episode though and since then they’ve been shown to be pretty good friends.

Each character in the mane 6 complements the other so well, and are foils to each other (Rarity can be a foil to Dash), it is possible to ship any two members of the 6 effectively.

Oh I know Read it and Weep. And imo, its not a TwiDash episode, its a pure Dash episode. It may be introducing a friend to a new hobby, but it didn’t have the tension AJ and Dahs had during the Running of the Leaves. Or how Dashs tuck out for Flutters throughout Hurrican Fluttershy. Or the lengths the loss of friendship Pinkie feared in Griffon the Brush off.
 
See, this is why I said there wasn’t a real Twidash episode eyt. I wanted something with ‘real’ conflict there, as opposed to the introduction of a hobby.

Furthermore…Rarity wasn’t just PART of the reason they were all able to come see her show, she was the prominent reason. She’s the one who noticed something was wrong with dash, insisted on thier going and offered to guinea herself with the flying spell in order to support her.
 
True her vanity clouded her judgement…that’s a consistent flaw of hers even into the third season. But to ignore everything between rarity and dash, particularly in that one episode is just asinine, especially when they reconciled.
 
It was through Dash’s drive to save someone she cared about that helped her achieve one of her greatest feats on the series.
 
If that’s not powerful shipping material, nothing is.

By that exact same logic, rarijack would worked because of how much they USED to argue (AKA not true at all)…characters can get over that…like they did in Sonic rainboom…so yeah…it can be considered a raridash ep.

Well…I think you’ve missed my point. Tehy can both be vain, but in the end, that episode proves they can both empathize deeply with one another and go out of their way for each other…it’s not as if the episode just ended with them being enemies.
 
 
They never really hated each other. In fact, judging from “Sonic Rainboom” Rarity understands Dash better than most would think, given they both know what it’s like to have big goals in life and not always feel good enough to achieve them.
 
Dash saved her life twice, and was actually the first to apologize to Rarity in “Dressed for Success”. In fact a lot of the scenes people point out in which Dash isn’t to happy in her company can be explained by Dash, just not being into the same thing, nor having much patience. That doesn’t mean they can’t have a deep connection. She has that same issue with her other friends.
 
You could also say they have similar character flaws. They can both be vain, but are good at heart and make the right choices in the end for the most part. Plus between AJ and Dash, I imagine Dash to secretly care more about how she looks and enjoy some pampering, striking some cute common ground between her and Rare.
 
Lastly, I don’t find it too absurd that Rarity would have at least a little crush on her savior, nor do I think Dash would find Rarity unattractive.
 
I think a mature, assertive Mare, like Rarity (Or Applejack) would be good for Rainbow dash, given she can keep her ego in check, without being hurtful, but also encourage her to do better. To bring some direction into her life, and better her as a person.
 
Secondly, Rarity’s trade involves complimenting the pony form and anatomy. Rainbow Dash, being an athlete, exemplifies physical perfection. I could see her being at least mildly intrigued. Wouldn’t be too difficult for a lovely mare like Rarity to get Dash’s attention either if she made a move.
 
Raridash also just has a lot of the same “opposites attract” charm as Rarijack, but with a touch of the “classy vs. electric” charm of the Octavia/Scratch ship, making it extra appealing, IMO.
 
There have also been quite a few instances in which Rarity and Rainbow Dash have interacted and gotten along just fine (albeit not as the focus of any entire episode, but when has TAHT ever stopped shippers in the case of many other parings) like when they casually go out to have breakfast together in the episode Dragon Quest and their friendly behavior toward each other in the second season finale. This notion that they have no love for one another is kinda debunked
 
There has been LOADS of great Fanfics and fanarts for this pairing to go by and many other people out there who can sell this ship even better than I have (look up yellowembers and ask her, or Freezingshock for that matter).

I do, however, apologise for the comment I made a few days ago.  
It was uncalled for and I just said it because I was in a bad mood (with someone and about something outside the fandom).

Because you can only save someone’s life if you truly, truly love them.  
I know Rainbow can be jerk at times, but I don’t think she would consciously let someone die, friend or not.  
(And if anything, Rarity being a show-off was part of the reason RD was so nervous.  
Not very good relationship material in my opinion.)  
(Of course yes, you could argue Rarity was part of the reason the others could see RD is her competition, but my point still stands.)
 
If you want a TwiDash episode: S2 E16: “Read It and Weep” is a good place to start.  
I mean if introducing one of your friends into one of your favourite hobbies isn’t a bonding moment, I don’t know what is.
 
Of course, you’re also implying that every single “shipping” picture is 100% (or even 75+%) serious.  
It’s just that because Twi’s the main character and Dashie’s the most aggressive character, they do seem to have a lot of out-of-context moments.
